Bharat and Anne are excellent hosts; Friendly and welcoming but respectful of our privacy. We were provided with a list of recommended restaurants and taxi services before our arrival. We sampled a couple of the restaurants and they did not disappoint. The room was very comfortable and a good size with a bath and shower ensuite, all spotlessly clean and the breakfast was superb - thanks Bharat! The location was great for us, just outside the town but it was a fairly steep hill back to Torlands, so book a taxi in advance if you don't fancy a walk. They have a lovely living room area with patio doors leading to an outdoor seating area, all on the first floor to make the most of the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we revisit Monmouth. Many thanks, Bharat and Ann.

For us, nothing could have been better.

We really enjoyed our family stay. The car park across was very handy. Our room was on the spa side/over the bridge so it was a bit of an effort with our luggage (we don't travel light with two children 4 & 7 years) but it was good that we were in a quiet part of the hotel and had a selection of beds. We really enjoyed the pool and got fresh towels each time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely a good selection available just watch out for the muesli dispenser, it comes out quite quickly. They ask you give a time and that worked well for us. The hotel was in an ideal location and we throughly enjoyed our say..

It's absolutely huge, really deceiving on the outside. Lovely place and location. Really comfortable bed but was very worried about the slats creaking every time I moved. Really nice enjoyable stay. Dog friendly but clean and no doggy smell. Would definitely return and recommend.

There were stains on the carpet downstairs, but it was clean still, so it was not a bother. I couldn't open the blinds back up in the bedroom as i was too short.

- The hostel manager and all of his staff are incredibly kind and supportive. - The beds are super comfortable, with big cosy pillows and thick mattresses. - The breakfast room is very inviting and the breakfast is perfect price-value.

The only tiny thing that might be worth improving (though maybe and understandably that would be a too large investment) is the water pressure in the showers and the loo.

The hotel has beautifully preserved stunning Tudor and medieval features. I walked the length of a medieval banqueting hall to get to my room!

My room was a bit noisy, but that is to be expected in a popular pub.
