I liked there was an air conditioner in the room. It was quite hot. The location is very good. It’s also very close to lots of shops and restaurants and cafes. It’s near bus stops and near two stations. It has a bar where you can refill your water bottles. There is a kettle and tea, coffee, sugars and biscuits. The bed was nice and comfortable. The curtains are able to block out most of the light. There’s also a desk and that’s nice to organise things. The shower has two modes, one overhead shower and one that’s on a shower head with a hose. The shower also came with soap which is nice.

The tap was quite close to the bottom of the sink and drain cover and close to the back. You need a glass to fill up the kettle. This is the same when filling up bottles. This also made you touch the bottom of the sink, the tap and back of the sink when washing your hands.

The hotel is very close to Earl's Court tube station. Even though the room is small it works well if you plan to visit during the day and return to the hotel during the evening. It is also clean and the room is cleaned daily. I recommend it for short stays in London.

Good sized room with big wardrobe and TV. Kitchen facilities were very handy to have. Everything clean and in working order.

I was in the family room with my dog, and there was plenty of space, lovely en suite, and right by the sea front.

Breakfast was poor, please just put out normal toasters!! Scrambled eggs were horrid, no milk jugs, hard bacon. greasy hash browns. Hotel is tired and so much could be done without spending a fortune. Hanging baskets out front looked dreadful, front doors always shut, rubbish bin over flowing, garden tiding, ashtrays on tables.

It was alright but the windows didn’t open and bit stuffy and we thought we was going to have the larger room.

When we made our booking we were quite clear that we did not want a noisy room, specifically adjacent to lift shafts, kitchen fans or other unusual noise sources. The hotel acknowledged receipt and that our preferences were recognised. However, on arrival the hotel had ignored the request completely and allocated Deluxe Room 507 adjacent to lift well and ‘ping’ landing. We returned to reception and were offered a second floor ‘Deluxe?’ Room in a dirty internal well where - right outside the window was… the main kitchen flue unit! The representative said they were full other than an outside room which was immediately opposite the church bell in the church on the church at the other side of an alleyway. This bell would start ringing at 7:00am and would be noisy. The representative asked which we preferred to which we replied ‘none of them’ and walked out of the hotel. We sat outside in the square, day completely disrupted, and recovered by booking a room, at 3:00pm on the phone with Nobu, Shoreditch (recommended!). The contrast could not have been more stark, with smooth, caring, effective staff and an airy clean stay (read my review). In conclusion, there was an unjustified pervading arrogance about the Vintry & Mercer Hotel, which ranked among the worst we have experienced across the globe. I have no idea how it has attracted the review ratings before but they in no way reflected our catastrophic experience…
