  Knaresborough Place has a a series of self-catering apartments hosted by a number of different companies. I have stayed at three different ones, since I periodically come to this part of town for work. The Cromwell was the best of the three I have used so far. It feels clean and modern, it is fairly quiet and everything worked smoothly. I was contacted directly (not via Booking.com) by an employee who confirmed that I had everything I needed and gave me contact details in case of emergency. This is not the type of service one usually gets in these self-catering places.

  It was a perfect location, not too far from the city centre. It was a quiet area and felt really safe for myself and my friends. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were spot on and very spacious in general for our group. The price for the weekend stay was a bargain. Highly recommend to anyone. Felt very homely also. Would love to come back there again.

  Great room and decoration, the hostel is very secure and made me feel safe. The showers and bathrooms were alright, cleaned daily, nothing to complain about. The location of the hostel, right out the Swiss Cottage station made it wonderful.

  The chests to store the luggage were a bit hard to access (under the bed, they made a little noise when opening, so not the best at night). Maybe one or two more hooks for jackets and towels would be amazing.

  Location was okay. If not for the deposit refund issue taking so long the apartment otherwise was okay

  Management poor, I waited two weeks to get my deposit back after countless requests and contacting booking.com and paypal for my refund. When we came we noticed that the sofa bed was broken and one bedroom mattress had springs broken. The oven was really dirty. Garden area could have been tided up.

  Apparently there was a problem with the Wi-Fi so we had no internet access and the tv didn’t work at all. We couldn’t even switch the tv on, it was if it was broken. The biggest problem for us was the water situation. We had a beautiful jacuzzi in the bathroom but were unable to use it as it was only running cold water. In order to get hot water from the sink tap we had to run the tap for about 10 minutes. We were told by staff that we could shower in another room if we wanted to.
