We've never been to a bed and breakfast before, however, with our stay at the Argyle Guest House, this definitely won't be our last B&B experience :) The host was very accommodating and she was infinitely kind. Breakfast was included in our stay and there were numerous breakfast options to choose from - the ones we've tried were delicious - including the Scottish breakfast. On top of it all, Tomintoul is a superb location for day-trips to the Cairngorms National Park.

We could hear noises like showers running or people talking in the hallway, but barely and it didn't taint the experience at all.

Browns was a lovely independent run place in the heart of Dartmouth so convenient for walking around the town. We were given a complimentary glass of prosecco which was a lovely touch and made us feel very welcome. Our room was a comfy double on the first floor and was quirky in its fixtures and fittings. It had everything for an overnight stay. The shower pressure was amazing and seeing as I have long hair made for an excellent wash.

Unfortunately we did feel that the room had not been cleaned properly as there was dust on things that should be cleaned daily like the top of TV, lamp, bedstead etc so it was visible. The bathroom also needed deeper cleaning as it didn't look or feel sanitised. We respect the fact that the building is old and full of character, that it isnt easy to replace and renew items because of cost etc but a good old clean would have made us feel a lot happier. The carpet too looked like it hadn't been vacuumed around the edges or properly for awhile as well. Sorry to state this but if the management don't know then how can you sort it out? We would stay again as we did like the ambience of the place.

Lovely room, all very clean and looked like new! The host was incredibly helpful, telling us the best spot to watch the Northern Lights (amazing!!!) and also useful local bus info. Would definitely stay again! Ps if you're doing the WHW you literally walk past it!

The hotel was good for the purpose of our stay. We needed accommodation while catching the ferry early in the morning and not wanting to drive in the middle of the night. You couldn’t get any closer. The room itself is spacious, plenty of room for your suitcases

Having a shared bathroom is very depending on the hygienic values of your fellow guests and some were not the most neat, putting it mildly. The closest restroom at our room sadly was the case. I have seen public restrooms in the most remote area that are cleaner. I’m glad that there were at least other restroom options in the hotel where the users were more considerate of other users. our room is located to a hallway with an open window where unfortunately downstairs outside people were smoking and you can clearly smell the cigarettes.

Wr stayed and paid for 2 nights bed n breakfast. The room was super cold, and we had to ask for a heater. The hotel doesn't state any parking fee when you pay online, so it was a surprise to find out we'd have to pay a parking fee for 2 days. On this occasion we didn't pay because there wasn't any breakfast for the morning so he waivered the parking fee. The following morning, there was breakfast, but I felt it wasn't right. The guy had come in, just to cook fir a couole of guests, and the room was cold and uninviting. I complained and got the parking fee waivered for the 2nd day and a £10 refund. We won't be going back to this hotel again.
