Although, it would have been useful to know about this detour in the pre-arrival message exchange beforehand.”

  The location is lovely; so convenient and close to shops and nice restaurants. The sound of the weir is very soothing and peaceful. The apartment is spacious and well equipped, and was very clean. It’s great also that there is a space for the car.

  Only a minor thing, but regarding the key collection, it was a little confusing as the instructions said to go to the key safe next to the side entrance to the house. If you don’t know the property it is difficult to know which the side entrance is. It would have been clearer to say the keys are in the key safe to the left of the door marked apartments 1 and 4. We were parked outside this door but went to the other key safe!

  Very friendly staff. We arrived very early from the night boat to Harwich and they very gracefully fixed us an excellent breakfast. Beautiful room, good food and drinks. Dedham is a very beautiful location and we went for wonderful walks.

  Higher ceilings :) - I think I banged my head at least ten times. The room faced the road which was relatively busy, but got quiet at night.

  Great value for money. Rooms were quiet and clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was fast and well priced. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

  We had been assured there would be secure bike storage. However this was in a packed bin storage shed. It was difficult to find space for the bikes. In the morning the bikes were covered in unpleasant items of waste and there seemed to be some damage to one of the bikes, potentially caused by moving it or knocking it while moving a bin.

  This used to be a great place to stay. It had character and great staff but now it is dire. It’s a building site. I gave it the benefit of the doubt in March but it was even worse this time.Noisy with dust coming into the rooms with air conditioning that didn’t work. Very unrelaxing! I would strongly advise people not to book until the work is completed. It is the worst hotel experience I have had for years. Awful particularly taking into account the price of the room. I should never have rebooked. Such a shame!
