The staff were nice. I stayed last year and nearly didn't return this year as the staff treated me differently than my friends. I am a black female and I noticed a few things that were directed at me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable. But this year - the staff were so nice and I wish I got their names to say here.

I didn't like the fact that breakfast on a weekend is served at 8am. I was staying as I was hiking the next day and didn't have the option for breakfast even though I paid for bed and breakfast

The restaurant manager was not very professional in accommodating us when we arrived. We asked about the availability of a table as we arrived late and were presented with attitude and made to feel uncomfortable despite wanting to support the restaurant within the hotel. We did not return

Waited for 3 hours to get access keys. No airconditioning, construction scaffolding outside window, bed is basically on the floor. Get charged a GBP200 deposit and room smells of smoke. You can hear every door closing & other guests walking around at all hours of the night/morning. Found hairs in the shower & shower outlet didnt drain & smelled like sewerage pipe when it did drain away. I used to be my 'go to' in previous years but something has changed drastically. I will definitely not be staying there again

Bed was extremely uncomfortable, infact, the most uncomfortable I have slept in. It was very very hard. Only 1 pillow each with no extras and pillow was too thin and soft. Had to use a rolled up towel underneath to try prop up slightly. There was no hairdryer, TV didn't work at all as there was no reception to any station. For the money it was too basic. There is being cheap no frills and then there is this hotel who don't even provide a comfortable bed to sleep on, nevermind any extras. Gave a rating of 3 as I wasn't injured or left seriously ill from the stay and I didn't encounter any hassle. Therefore I felt it would be harsh to give 1 or 2.
