Great stay as always. We stay here when visiting family in the village. Stayed in the family room. Which is great as there are 2 single beds which is much better than most hotels where you get a sofa bed. My son (age 8) thinks this is the best hotel in the UK and both my kids get so excited when they know we are stopping here. Food in restaurant is lovely and the breakfast is so worth it. They charge £10 for and adult and £5 for a childs breakfast which is very reasonable.

The staff was exceptional in their willingness to help and to make sure that I was well looked after. Because of an asthma condition I had to make sure that my room was smoke, pet and scent free. The housekeeping manager Attila personally checked my room and made sure that my asthma would not be triggered. The front desk, bar and kitchen staff were equally helpful and pleasant. The service here exceeded my expectations and was equal to any 5 star hotel.

The only thing I didn't like was how heavy the room doors were and how loudly they closed upon entering and exiting, which tends to be the case in some hotels and this hotel was no exception. My room and the bathroom were dated but very clean and a good value for the money.

Good public transport. Railway station over the road (& I wasn't kept awake by high-speed trains! Hotel staff friendly & good breakfasts .

I was on the top floor- no problem with that as I am well able to climb stairs but being in the attic meant a skylight & not able to see the view. Iwas only there for 2 nights so not a problem.

The bread serves whilst we were waiting for our starter was dry. We explained that it needed an oil and balsamic deep and the manager arranged this for us. The next night he automatically served it with the bread. Excellent

Very little space around the furniture. Main light didn't work and no one dealt with the repair which we reported. Kettle switch was broken. Poor selection of coffees, 3 decaf and 1 normal. Restaurant was closed when we arrived and only pot noodle was available. Poorly stocked bar. No Scotch whisky and no brandy.
