The starters in the restaurant are the best course. There is a great choice at breakfast.

Stood at the bar for 5 minutes before bar staff even acknowledged us. They were too busy having a row at the sink! Stem broccoli was part of my main meal but I was served mushy previously frozen broccoli which when I turned it over on my plate was brown/past its best; the kitchen staff apologised for this afterwards which was nice.

We did ask for a quiet room on a high floor & it was provided as requested, but room 816 was very small, & a poor outlook & felt claustrophobic. We have stayed here previously & enjoyed a better bigger room.

Cleanliness - Maintenance- Toilet Flush - Shower - Breakfast. What a wonderful example of a historic British Coaching Inn. Unfortunately the owners are failing to keep up with basic cleanliness and maintenance issues. The delightful and extremely helpful staff did an excellent job of covering the stark deficiencies. Perhaps somebody will read this and rectify the situation for the good name of Amersham and British standards !
