Staff great. Had a sirloin steak for dinner which I couldn’t eat as it was so tough. Told staff member who offered me another which for obvious reasons I declined. Still had to pay full price though. A word with chef needed I think.

Exellent location - close to The Tower Bridge and only a 20 min. walk from Liverpool Street station. Nice old house. Very nice clean bedding, good warm blanket. Small table and two chairs in the room.

The tight front door had no handle - very hard to open from the inside. The place needed fresh paint and some repair. The shower was a bit mouldy and the whole place smelled musty.

Lift was rarely working - lots of steps to the top floor. It’s an old building with an old lift and staff suggested it wasn’t on the list of things to replace. Some of the general areas (stairs, landings, resident lounge) appeared slightly dated although perfectly serviceable. Room prices were high buy Scottish standards but probably representative of ‘normal’ in Orkney which has limited accompanying making it generally more expensive than you’d like it to be.
