The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

We didn't pay for wifi but it was very good, better than many urban places in Devon! There was a good offer for breakfast, cereals and toast etc but we were also told we could use the kitchen for cooked breakfast or evening meal. Good shower and even a bath, everything very clean and Annie and Will were interesting hosts and told us about a rare orchid and butterfly that we could look for in one of their meadows. We found them both. The house is very old and has been sympathetically restored. We ate good food at the Old Inn and Rugglestones and enjoyed the amazing views from the tors and spotting wildlife etc.

We had 2 single beds, mine was fine but hubby found his uncomfortable, mattress probably needs replacing.

Meals where very good, Breakfast selection very good. Room was very comfortable. A pianist played for one night, other times it was very quiet. Perhaps a singer on Saturday night.

The breakfast buffet sausages looked delicious, however in reality they were very tough and very dry. We arrived early for breakfast for all of our stay and the sausages where already dry so the problem must be in the kitchen.

Place was immaculate, very high standard, was a little walk into town, but a beautiful one along the promenade. Would highly recommend.

Would have loved an option of a cooked breakfast. There was food and plenty of different drinks available though. But I was aware of this before I booked

Our stay was linked in to attending Brixton academy. Which was only a 15 min walk from the house. It was perfect for all our needs.

The stairs down to the two bedrooms were quite steep and some people may find that access hard to deal with.

The bed was very comfortable and the linen really fresh

The room was very tired looking and the shower wouldn’t turn off, I had to call reception and a member of staff struggled but eventually turned it off! The bathroom was pretty poor

Good location. Clean. Basic room but comfortable

I was sent an email after I booked by the hotel offering a priority package for an extra £40. This suggested a better room with a view of the city, breakfast, access to a premier lounge for tea and coffee and implied a nicer room by the photo. The room was standard but on a higher floor and the premier lounge had been closed since covid, except for breakfast, so I had essentially paid more for my breakfast and not much else. I wouldn’t have recommended this package but was happy with everything else.
