All good, our room was inner styx. Room clean and bed comfy, we loved roof window shutters closable with the very long pole. Amazing power shower and nice hot radiator to dry our towels. The garden was very nice with furniture and cushions to enjoy the evening sun with wine fgrom village shop. We would return and highly recommend the George and ye old nags head for meals £15-20 each. ☺

Drains did have a smell in the kitchen but with the adjoining doors shut it never effected our stay at all.

A good old fashioned hotel that was looking a bit tired, nevertheless the bed was comfortable and clean with a rather small screen tv. There was a sea view of sorts though as we were only staying one night, it didn't really matter. The breakfast was very good with a variety of cereals and yogurts. The cooked option was well presented with the eggs done to perfection.

The bathroom, unusually provided a bath/shower. This worked, but after using the shower, it was impossible to turn the water off. The staff seemed only too aware of the problem. Parking is a big issue and, whilst it is possible to load/unload suitcases etc, there is a limit of 4 hours, unless you are prepared to move your car around. We used the Grafton multi story, which is about half a mile away and slightly cheaper at a maximum of £11 per day. there is free parking on the street but it is at least a mile and a half away.

Check in went well and the helpful reception staff in booking us a taxi back to the airport the next morning. The room was clean and comfortable with good facilities. We were also on the ground floor close to reception and did not have to walk miles to get to the hotel entrance.

The bar drinks were very pricey and they did not serve snacks such as crisps or nuts or similar, which was a shame as we arrived late and did not want a full meal.

Only wanted basic hotel with a comfortable bed close to Eurostar. The room was fine, modern and clean but they skipped the bed/mattress when they did the upgrade.
Negative section of review
The bed. It was really terrible - mattress very uncomfortable with odd lumps in it. Not recommended if you want a decent sleep.

Helpful staff Pleasant looking interior in the hotel Nice bed Nice bathroom Sky tv was a plus that I didn’t expect Absolutely brilliant placement
Negative section of review
Lack of (mini) fridge to store food/drinks. Lack of window. Wi-Fi wasn’t too strong (might have been room dependent).

the generator which was next to our room kept us awake. Woke us up at 11 and again at 12:30 we had an early start the following day. Did phone reception twice.
