The staff were amazing, really friendly and helpful. The bar had stella on tap so my bf was very happy, and a good selection of gins for myself. Not labeled as such but vegan options were available for dinner. Breakfast was lovely and although again, not labeled vegan, they had options. I asked for oat or soya milk, they'd run out but went to the shop and got both so I had a choice. The room was good enough for what we needed, comfortable bed, a small tv, you can hear some noise from the bar but that's to be expected when staying above a pub. Complimentary soap and shower gel and nice towels provided.

The sink was semi blocked in our room, when it filled it looked like phlegm, which was gross, but it drained quite quickly so we didn't complain. There was a small black lid in the bath which suggests it hadnt been cleaned very well... The water didnt get particularly hot either but warm enough to shower in.

Superb location, bus stop right outside and less than ten minute walk to both train stations. Really bright and airy with lots of natural light and had all the equipment you’d need, such as iron, ironing board etc. great communication from the host once we had booked. Just be aware of the 500 pound deposit required once you click pay. Although this was returned almost immediately after checkout. Would definitely stay here again

Breakfast was good value for money. The location is in a residential area so was quiet, although the pub had already closed when I got back to my room. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was basic but clean and I had everything I needed. It was a 20 to 30 minute walk to the centre of Cardiff and easy to navigate. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Clean and inviting entrance hall. Good shower. The shower room was compact but well set out. Views out the back, rather than the street. Left my jacket in the compact wardrobe, the only thing I put in and forgot about it. The house keeper tried contacting us appreciated that. Has car parking space.

Top of the house, second floor, a heavy case hard to haul up. Room 6 is in the room space, so watch out you don’t bang your head. Coffee machine a little tricky not used these pods before. The lattee tasted of sugar and milk so used the kettle to make brews. Decor a little dark but did know from pictures. The double bed did appear to be a little small. Be aware not enough car park spaces for everyone staying.

Quite a lot of stairs to room,. It should be noted this is a restaurant with rooms it is not a pub or a hotel so no lounge areas
