Location and host were awesome, as was Rothbury itself. Despite the weather, we spent 2 nights in the town eating and drinking after a nice strenuous 10-minute walk from the property. Amenities are excellent, so rural and quiet that I had the best nights sleep in 20 years, with the fresh air floating through the open windows. And the visit to Cragside was 6 Loved our stay

Excellent staff. Warm friendly welcome. Young lady on reception could not have been more helpful. Restaurant staff friendly and made being served good fun. Very good quality food and generous portions. Bedroom clean and comfortable with a great view of the harbour, good size bathroom.

The room was clean and well equiped with private washbasin, wifi and easy access to a very nice shared bathroom. I was alone in the room, therefore I declare it confortable and pleasant. The environment was quiet. But the hosts were kind and friendly.

As I have arrived late in the night - plane and bus schedulle - they did not count my delay and was about to spend the first night outside. In the end, I was really lucky to meet somebody from the staff and after some discussions, he agreed to give me the key. Honestly, after that, all went very well, so perhaps, they should be more carefull with these late arrivals.

The bedrooms are tired and need an upgrade. It is overpriced for what it is, corridor carpers are shabby and generally needs a facelift.
