We didn't meet João in person, but communication via Booking went very smoothly. Also the self check-in is very easy. As for parking: there are a few places in the driveway, but there also is a convenient public parking space nearby where we parked our car every night. The apartment is located in a quiet street, but is still pretty close to the city center (1.5km - 2km) where you can find all necessary supermarkets, restaurants, ... And it's also located quite central on São Miguel which makes it the ideal base to explore the entire island.”

  As we were here because a family member was in hospital we weren’t well prepared, so it was great that the property was stocked with coffee, washing machine/dishwasher tabs, toilet roll, soap and cleaning stuff. The property has an excellent electronic entry system - so key free which was really convenient as there 3 of us coming and going. The owner was really good at communicating. The property was set up as two super king bedrooms and they were very comfy with crisp white sheets. The showers were strong and the towels were new and fluffy.

  Very minor things as it was really a very positive stay. The parking space is quite tight if you have a big car. I meant to tell the owner that the bath tap was hard to turn off so probably needs a new washer. Perhaps so many dried flowers aren’t needed - they sort of get in the way.

  We arrived well after mid-night and the wonderful lady who worked there, stayed up for us, arranged some wine for us, took our orders for breakfast and then walked us up to the room. All with great warmth and friendliness, as if it was completely normal to have guests arrive so late at a small town hotel. We had arrived slightly embarrassed, but felt genuinely welcome. Thanks again for that.

  Lovely spacious room with roomy bathroom and good facilities. 2 easy chairs to sit and admire the wonderful sea view. Spacious balcony. Peaceful harbour and beach. Easy access to coast path and lovely historic Moulin pub for alternative supper and drinking option. Food options good and well presented. Friendly staff.

  Hotel needs an update. Dining room tables very warn and need re-varnishing or covering with a cloth. Balcony needs weeding and rusty rails dealing with. Outdoor balcony chairs very tatty. Meals are overpriced for the quality served. No lift, and no offer of help with luggage on checking in. Bar unwelcoming with only a few seats facing a large TV screen. Guest lounge bar not available.

  There was a fridge and toaster in the room and plenty of tea and coffee, making stuff
