Staff great. Couldnt do enough.for you. Food very good. The whole downstairs is lovely nice garden good restaurant. However....the twin room was awful. Tiny beds..bathroom fan didnt work. Window did not shut and latch broken so anyone could climb in. Curtains hanging off. One tiny shampoo 2 teabags! Old beds. Did not sleep.

Quiet room on the ground floor (my wife has mobility issues), very clean with good decor. Staff very obliging and friendly. Excellent breakfast, all round worth the money we paid for the one night prior to our appointment at QE Hospital.

We booked through booking.comand were not told that there would be a parking charge until we saw the signs in the car park. When we went to check in the gentleman at the desk said we would need to pay for parking unless we were 1HG members. We did not know what that was and he did not tell us it was free to join and then we would get free parking, until after we had checked in and then paid the parking charge of £8. I paid for the room at check in. Booking.com said our standard room was £132 including Vat. It was £159. Also, I was due in hospital early next morning and my husband checked us out and he paid again! Your system did not seem to know we had paid twice. Not only that! When we realised this, we checked our bank account and realised that I had been charged £318 instead of £159 and my husband had been charged £159 plus food night before. So in effect we had been charged 3 times! I called up your reception and the lady gave me a number to call for the person who could sort this out. When my second call was answered it was the same lady and she had given me her own number. She then went to find someone who could help and the matter was looked into and we were refunded £318. Fitness sweet limited. Pool area had no private changing space. The room itself was average, but had problems. The AC and heating did not work. The bedside lamp on left did not work. The USB plug on left was missing. There were two people but only 1 hot chocolate. The toilet seat was loose The toilet flush got stuck on the on position and dribbled. The bath was too small to lie in The hot water was Luke warm. There were a few black hairs in and around the bath The corridor was very noisy. There was an ‘adjoining’ room, which we looked, but we could hear them through wall/door. We do not normally like to make complaints, but before writing any review, I thought it best to contact you, as we feel we paid a lot of money for a below average experience.
