The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Very quiet, cosy, has everything you need to cook meals and feel at home. Owners provided tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks when we arrived. There are clear instructions for everything in the flat, and switches are labelled so you know what everything is for (which is so helpful in a new space!). The owners have clearly thought about what their guests need and how they will use the space. Close to the centre of town, the train station and ferry terminal, but tucked away so it was super quiet and cosy. I think this was the best holiday home we have ever stayed in, and we would stay again in a heart beat. An excellent base to explore Oban and the isles, we had a fantastic stay.

Borrowfield lodge is a delight. Great location, 3 clean, beautiful, comfortable and tastefully decorated rooms. Tea and coffee facilities with fresh milk, fridge and kettle. Luxurious accommodation. We had only booked one night for the two of us and we were staying with friends elsewhere in Derby for the following three nights. This turned out to be appalling accommodation so we left, spoke to the host at Borrowfield and he was able to accommodate us and our friends for the three nights! It felt like we were ‘coming home’. Our friends loved it also.

This is a fantastic place. The flat is spacious and modern, and it have anything you need for a stay. It is central within walking dustance from the station and city centre. The staff/team at StayCity is very friendly and helpful.

Fab location opposite the Abbey and a stones throw from the Whitby Brewery. A short walk into the town. Property was lovely. Very clean with everything provided for our stay.

The gap at the top of the garden was not dog friendly. The beds are small doubles-not very comfortable and not much room for two people.

Excellent location, value for money and the staff we met were very friendly. The unique take on breakfast service was very much appreciated.

The entrance, with the drive, open fields and adjacent church all adds to the appeal of the building. Inside is just as lovely.

I just wish it didn’t take so long to get hot water to come through. Not sure what could be done. It’s such a waste. Maybe it doesn’t happen in every room. I’m talking minutes not seconds.

good breakfast but unfortunately no black pudding

Room was ok but electrical socket did not work and a very smelly bathroom sink. Staff would benefit from a more friendly attitude.

Made the mistake of booking the basement (no. 1). It is not made clear in the description that it is a basement room. There are velux windows that cannot be reached and even if you could there was a pile of rubbish directly outside them so wouldn’t want to open them, especially in the heat this week. Fire alarm in the ceiling had a bag over it (positioned over the kitchen area so maybe that is why, but this should have been picked up on by cleaners). Hard to find late at night as you have to go down an alley. Stairs down to the room are very narrow, with luggage it is a struggle. “Garden” is a concrete area that is used to dry the laundry. Fine for a night but five nights was a struggle.
