We stayed in a room with a king-size bed. The room was very spacious and light. I loved the view of the pool area. The decor is great. I loved all the little touches. The lobby is cool as heck! So inviting, great place to lounge around or do work. I love how guests feel so free and comfy. I only used the Cafe in the morning. That was a real perk. I also like how the folks from the neighborhood come to get morning coffee and hang out. The outdoor veranda that wraps around the front of the hotel was my favorite place. Looking down Constitution ave while sipping my coffee on the outdoor couches was too cool. I just loved it. One more thing, the outdoor pool and workout area are really nice too . We will definitely be back. The location can't be beat.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center, hotel in Washington, D.C.

This all-suite hotel in downtown Washington, D.C. is less than 2 blocks from the Washington, D.C. Convention Center. The hotel offers a microwave and refrigerator in every spacious suite.

ALL staff from the moment we checked in early, to the early mornings the mad rush was lining up for breakfast to the late nights needing a meal, and the guys out front helping people with their luggage…every staff member had a smile on their face and expressed joy in their hearts. Our room was tended to every day, wasn’t expected but was welcomed and appreciated. We had space to stay for a whole week to make it feel like home away from home, with comfortable beds and a place to have a meal. Our son enjoyed swimming every evening and we are grateful for that! And even having washer and dryers to do laundry, WOW! It was so close to walk to restaurants and set out for daily activities and sightseeing. The location was safe, also very grateful for that.

FAQs about hotels in Washington, D.C.

A World Icon

Featuring tons of national treasures, Washington DC is the US capital and home to the world’s most iconic presidential building – The White House. Most visitors start at the National Mall, a huge park stretching from the Potomac River to the Capitol Building. It also encompasses the Washington Monument obelisk and the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, of particular significance in US civil rights, commemorated by the latest addition - the Martin Luther King Memorial.

Also here are 11 of the city’s 17 incredible Smithsonian museums, including the unmissable National Museum of American History.

If all this gets too much, wander around Georgetown’s Colonial buildings and take a break in one of the student cafés. Many world cuisines are represented in Washington DC and the city also has its fair share of live music venues, with a surprisingly good jazz scene. The National Symphony Orchestra is based here and the Kennedy Center hosts a range of productions.

DC’s planning policy means there are no skyscrapers, so if you fly into Washingon Dulles Airport over the city, you see its white buildings standing proud. The city is also served by Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport and Washington National Airport. All are quite a way out, so leave plenty of time to get there from your hotel, apartment or guesthouse booked through Booking.com.

It’s so much to do and see! Wish I had more time to spend on the Wharf, that area is beautiful! Also I wish I had planned better on how to get around, Ubering turned out to be very expensive! I still enjoyed it and plan to visit again soon.

The famous sightseeings and loads of memorials were impressive. The white house itself was a bit disappointing because it was surrounded by big fences (temporarily). Also, you can't come very close and due to the distance it looks small. If you want to make photos of the memorials and buildings without people: go early in the morning! The metro connections are great as well.

Washington is a wonderful, wide, and quiet city, as it is the Capital town of the USA. It provides a lot of different possibilities both from the tourist and business point of views. It is possible to see and learn countless things for free, thanks to the Smithsonian Institution and the several open museums that are located by the Washington Mall: the Museum of Air and Space, the Gallery of Art, the Museum of Natural History, the American Art Museum, and others. The city is also full of nice parks, statues, and mix different architectural styles, and it hosts ones of the most famous, glorious, and beautiful historical monuments: the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Memorial, the Arlington Cemetery, the M.L. King Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, and others. It is definitely a must to see destination, and it is recommended to stay at least 5-7 days to have a better idea of the different places. If you're interested in politics, history and art,...

If you're interested in politics, history and art, Washington is a great destination. Nearly all the museums are free and the exhibitions are well curated. The architecture is great for a city that is approx 250 years old. Grand buildings line the central Mall where most of the Smithsonian museums reside. Notable visits included Arlington Ceremony to see the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier, lunch in Georgetown; a prettier suburb of Washington, The American Indian Museum was very informative and educational. The Capitol Hill Tour and a visit to the public gallery in the House of Representatives showed us some of the workings of the US Government. Galleries included the National Gallery and the Portrait Gallery - lots of variety of artwork from across the world and different genres.

The room was very spacious, king bed and many pillows were extremely comfy, kitchen area wonderful, and staff was kind, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The Foggy Bottom/Georgetown location was perfect. We were there for our dad's funeral at Arlington National Cemetery. The kitchen reduced our stress about meals and allowed us to choose which meals we'd eat out. State Plaza Hotel has beautiful art deco decor and is truly your BEST value in DC near the Mall.

Excellent, very well-located hotel. The equipment of the apartments is unique, just like the architecture of the whole hotel. Very good breakfasts, very good restaurant, and happy hours, during which one could get drinks and snacks free of charge. This hotel has a swimming pool area with a hot jacuzzi, which is very pleasant and allows you to relax well after a day of work or sightseeing. If I came to Washington DC again, I would only stay at this hotel.

The location is great. It’s pricey for what you get, but relative to other hotels in the same area, it’s still much cheaper. If it wasn’t in this location, you probably wouldn’t stay here. Bed and pillows were comfortable. I like the architecture of the building. The rooms tend to be small, but I actually like that. The showers are nice. I don't know if rooms have tubs. I’ve stayed here a couple of times and would do so again.

Definitely a great choice! We traveled with two older children and the location was great. We were able to walk to the center and always take the bus back. I was afraid that the cheap price would be out of line with the quality, but the hotel was clean and the service was good. We parked the car in the back street of the hotel without any problems.we had one dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent.
