FAQs about hotels in Llandudno

Victorian Resort with a Welsh Twist

The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.

A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.

A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.

Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.

The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.

It is a very traditional Victorian resort, with 2 excellent promenades, the main prom is wide and well maintained, there is a long pier with small fairground attractions, and craft shops. I am from the area but moved many years ago. It was nice to visit like a proper tourist/ holidaymaker! A lot has changed in Llandudno since i lived there. Very clean wherever I went and some great places to eat and drink in. I have always rated the north prom which is where my hotel was located with the stunning bay capturing the Orme / pier and little Orme. Good to see a few of the hotels are having work done to them. This will mean that the area will remain as it is with plenty of character.

The hotel was very fresh and clean, I think possibly it has had a recent repaint as everything was perfect. Great location on the seafront, clean and cute room with sea view, comfortable bed and pillows. Information provided in the room gave us everything we needed for a quick turnaround and out to dinner. In room and breakfast facilities covered all bases. Communication from the hotel was relevant and timely, no-nonsense entry to hotel with door code texted before arrival. Really good value for money and would definitely recommend.

Breakfast buffet had everything you would want for good English/Welsh breakfast. Hotel location close to the beach with great sea views, close enough to walk to Llandudno pier and to the vast amount of shops in and around the town centre. Many eating places and Venue Cymru provides theatre entertainment. The hotel staff made us feel a part of the family extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was warm and comfortable and our en suite was a wet room. Will return one day, for now just like to say hello to Coco.

Booked the Headlands on the return leg of our Scottish trip as we had never visited Llandudno before, generally we prefer hotels with "character" and it certainly has buckets of that, our room had super high ceilings with full length drapes and a view of the sea. Facilities were good and we used the small but cosy bar in the evening, breakfast was also good and we were surprised at the number of people staying there as it was quiet at night. The Pier, Cable Car and Seafront is a short walk away if your fit.

You simply could not find a better place to stay in Llandudno. The Hotel is absolutely pristine throughout and situated in the best location with sea views overlooking the famous pier. The Breakfast is buffet style with a massive choice and if you have a big appetite you'll love it. Loved the location we have stayed here before and was perfect , totally different experience this time ! We don’t live near the sea so when we go to Llandudno a sea view is our main priority when booking a hotel , unfortunately we were never told our views were obscured by scaffolding , I understand works have to be done but I would never have booked if I had known and think this is very unfair when you’re looking forward to your weekend away!!

Tyndale Hotel is one, if not my favorite hotel, in all of England. The environment is cozy, and the staff makes you feel welcome and at home, they always had the best attitude and were very helpful. The food is delicious (I ate some pancakes that tasted like a warm Sunday morning), and the rooms are clean and spacious. My mom and I had the best time at this place, and when we come back to Llandudno, this will be the place we return to.
