The property was located about 15 minutes away from the Zocalo walking distance. Their breakfast was complete with buffet options, fresh fruit and daily made nurture food. The staff were friendly and polite. They accommodated me with a room with a window which it was appreciated it. The room was fully equipped with a small fridge, coffee maker, iron, iron board, hair dryer, TV, Netflix. The AC was really good. The cleaning service was great too, I love to come back to my room ready and clean after a full day of tours. Yes, I recommend it and I would return again.

Close to everything especially to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. They have a specific walkway for pilgrims in the middle of road in front of hotel to walk 2 miles and 2 miles back. You can uber of course, but we love walking. Will definitely use the hotel again when we go back. We made our first friend in Mexico in a beautiful restaurant a few doors next to the hotel. His name is Jose who made our fried banana in whiskey in Baley ice cream. Great meal. We would 3 times the cost here in the US. Anyway, hotel was great. Clean and breakfast was good for starting your day. Room was very clean. We are world travelers and this was excellent to meet our purpose.

The room was beautiful. Although we our 1st night we lost power in our bedroom but still had power in living area. Again we had a tour to get to, they arrived about 10 minutes later and took over 30 minutes to fix. We missed our tour. We were able to rebook for the next day.

FAQs about hotels in Mexico City

Aztec Capital and Vibrant Metropolis

As one of the biggest cities in the world, Mexico City could be better described as an experience than a city. Founded in 1325 by the Aztecs as Tenochtitlan, it was both destroyed and rebuilt by the Spanish in the 16th century. Nowadays, it is the capital of the United Mexican States and its most important economic and cultural center.

The city center’s cornerstone is the famous Plaza de la Constitución, commonly called Zócalo. It's surrounded by the presidential Palacio Nacional and the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral.

The Avenida de la Reforma was built under the brief rule of Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Austria, while the deposed president Porfirio Díaz left a characteristic fusion of French-Mexican architecture. The 1960s saw a demographic explosion that only now is starting to be completely absorbed.

From the Chapultepec Parks and the chic Polanco, to the gay area of Zona Rosa and the Bohemian and intellectual Coyoacán: let Mexico City tell you its thousand secrets and stories.

Most of the hotels are located around the Reforma area, the Insurgentes Avenue and the Zócalo. If you’re looking for 5-star hotels in Mexico City, the modern Santa Fe area has a recently redeveloped business sector.

    Plan ahead.

Plan ahead. Find what you like, what you want to see and visit. Make a list, use AI to prepare it for you. Public transportation is cheap, one metro/bus ticket costs around $0.40 and you can switch inside metro without paying additional fare. There are modern architectural marvels in the Mexico city, like the Vasconcelos library worth visiting or Museo Anahuacalli. Also, Avenida Amsterdam in La Condesa neighbourhood. In the city center - Postal building is interesting, but Mexico city bank building next to it only if you are interested in the Mexican money - otherwise, don't go, you'll loose nearly 2 hours. Both buildings are next to Palacio de Bellas Artes. La Merced market near Zocalo (Plaza de la Constitution) is huge, and go only if you haven't been to other mexican markets or if you wish to eat at one of the many, many stalls there (I recommend TACOS MC TEO stall) Be aware there are rules to deal with car polution, and if you are coming with your car (or rental car) you have to apply online for a tourist pass, because whole Mexico city is unde Hoy no circulation zone rules.

It is one of the most exciting cities in the world . A lot to see in terms of art ,history (especially anthropology) and of course culinary experiences. Getting around Mexico can be daunting but we used Uber and that was secure and clean. We did, however , had a bad experience the last day when the driver didn't show up and we missed our bus back home.

It seems like a chaotic place with too much of everything, but if you give it a chance, you will realise it's an amazing place with creativity on every corner! We have stayed at the Historico Central several times during our visits to Mexico City. It is a wonderful boutique hotel. Excellent service, professional staff, highly attentive to client needs. Impeccably clean. Hotel provides free of charge free water bottles, apples on every floor, plus free cafe access (paninis, soup, breakfast rolls, coffee), included in the hotel price is a delicious complete Mexican breakfast. Centrally located to excellent museums, historical sites, and great restaurants.

Maison du Compte is a wonderful family-owned boutique hotel very well located in Consdessa. The location is very safe and near a lot of good restaurants and bars. The staff was outstanding, going beyond expectations to assist. It was my first time in Mexico City and they were very helpful in getting me oriented and making recommendations. Breakfast was excellent. One of the best features of the hotel is the very comfortable open-air rooftop veranda.

I love historical hotels, and this one was fabulous. It has an excellent location, in the Centro Historico of Mexico City. The staff were very friendly and spoke some English, which was very helpful. The food in the restaurant was good. When I arrived they were decorating in the lobby for the Day of the Dead celebration. The decorations were absolutely spectacular! I would definitely stay here again.

My booking was never fulfilled by the Hilton. After 15-17 hours of flying, arriving at Mexico City Airport at 1am, I was told no rooms were available even though I booked it a week earlier. I was given no alternative and all the hotels close by were booked so I was forced to sleep on the floor at the airport. No airbnbs we’re even available to book at that hour. Worst hotel experience of my life.

I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel if you are travelling to Mexico City and are on a tight budget. It was midway between the city center and the airport.
