The full English breakfast was pleasant and the waitress/receptionist was really excellent and professional. Some other guests checked out early for some reason and she handled them very politely. We went into town and came back to check out, and the receptionist allowed us to stay in the lobby to rest before our journey onwards. She also made us a pot of excellent coffee for free.

On meeting reception staff realized I was disabled and immediately took my car keys and retrieved our luggage from our car and delivered them to our ground floor room ,excellent 5 star service I thank them all, they also had a meal delivered to our room ,luxury,I'm able to swim and I was accommodated with that facility too, Breakfast was amazing as usual I say this as we stayed here many years ago and unlike most places we return to this one castle green has got an air of order training of staff, politeness,it's as good if not better well done all staff particularly theose on reception you are castle greens first impression and you knocked it out of the park WE WILL BE BACK Mr and Mrs walker 17/8/25 to 19/8/25 Room 120

Kendal is a beautiful and historic market town with lots of excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. It's got a great library for rainy days and there's lots of fascinating old alleyways and buildings to enjoy. We loved eating at the Brewery Arts Centre in the evening and also the brilliant Comida Spanish tapas cafe just down from the arts centre. Kendal is a great place to use as a base to explore the Lakes.

The location was quiet as it was hidden behind other buildings. There were two rooms per floor and three floors. The stairs were winding and narrow so not appropriate for seniors unless in good physical condition. I am over 75 and the stairs made me quite nervous. The kitchen was well equipped except I prefer perk or drip coffee. Folks from out of the UK may not understand the term 'cottage' as this is a three story building.

We really enjoyed a visit to Levens Hall nearby, famous for its topiary garden. We would like to have visited Sizergh House as well, but didn’t have time. Kendal’s great owing to its proximity to these historic houses and to Lake Windermere.

    Very pretty town.

Very pretty town. Lots of eating/drinking in town some very good although most resteraurants are quite pricey. Alcohol is cheap. Definitely a tourist town for the lakes. Central Town strangely enough has lots and lots of charity shops! Very little public transport and heavy traffic through the town..

The Residence is well located in the centre of Kendal. Everything is in easy walking distance and the car parking outside was convenient. The parking permit allowed us to part in lots of locations around the area, which was also useful. Lee met me on arrival, and was very accommodating of an unexpected change of arrival time to much later in the evening. All the little extras in the apartment were very welcome when I arrived late in the evening. The layout was brilliant and everything was well thought out and considered.

This hotel is well located at the very southern edge of Kendal which makes it easy to find. It’s great for exploring both the central Lake District & the south lakes. It’s very well appointed and our room, while compact which is clear in the description was more than comfortable for our stay. The hotel looks like it’s been recently refurbished and they are extending at the back (hidden away) to create more space. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and recommend without reservation.

Lovely property, short drive out of Kendal and easy access to the main areas of the Lake District. Property had beautiful views, great facilities and ticked all our boxes. Two double rooms, one closed off with an en-suite, and a second on the mezzanine level, with a further bathroom downstairs. Loads of natural light which was delightful with the bonus weather we had. Hosts were very helpful and easy to reach if needed.

I really can’t complain. It’s a central location allowing us to walk to everything in Kendal. Free parking facility right by the hotel. All staff were pleasant. The bar / bistro area appears newly renovated and modern. I’m aware the leisure area of closed for refurb so clearly they invest in upgrading the place.
