As for the town of Levanto itself, I’m not sure I would choose it again. Compared to the nearby Cinque Terre towns, Levanto seems to come out the weakest. The downtown area and restaurants are rather poor in quality, and parking a car anywhere is a real challenge. I don’t think I would return to this town, although overall I would still rate my stay as very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the beach at levanto and the night life was exciting, every evening the had organised some kind of a event . The most exciting part was the bicycle ride along the galerie levanto- bonassola. Also the punta della madonna ( chiesetta madonnino della punta ) was reachable with a cycle. Levanto had the best beach in Cinque Terre by far. We went to all the other Cinque Terre villages (Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore), and Levanto had the only sandy beach. It was very clear, the beach as well as the water, not as crowded as the other towns, more space for people and bigger free beaches. Besides that, no other Cinque Terre beach has sand. They either have big rocks or small pebbles, which are difficult to walk on, except for Levanto, where you can confortably walk barefoot. Levanto also has a place from which you can free dive into deep waters (the port), like in Vernazza. I reccommend eating at Aggio&Persa - it has the highest reviews (4.9), very cheap food, they sell per grams, not portion (a portion of lasagna here is 6-7€, while at other places it's 14€), and it has a variety of freshly cooked meals right in front of you - both homey and local.Guest review byAndreeaRomania - 10.0

Levanto is in a great spot on the edge of the Cinqueterre National Park. There are fewer tourists here than in the Cinque Terre villages, but the whole national park is easily accessible from here. It's easy to travel from Pisa to Carrara, La Spezia, Cinqueterre, Genoa or even Milan because of the excellent rail connections. There are many hiking trips on marked trails in the area. The beaches are clean and comfortable. The sea is warm. The landscape is beautiful. At night, there is dancing in the main square. The town has a really nice atmosphere. We enjoyed the free music concerts in the squares in the evening. Lovely restaurants and tasty gelato on the main square. Has good access to the cinque terre without being nearly as busy & hectic. The public beaches however are crowded and as busy as those in cinque terre. A nice town with some good restaurants and a small beach. Ideal as a base to visit the Cinque Terra from, as not so busy but only 5 to 20 mins on the train to see all the villages. Bar Levanto is perfect for a drink after a sight seeing visit.Guest review bySteveUnited Kingdom
