We have stayed once before recently and were very keen to stay again as we had such a wonderful time previously. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, think high class boutique hotel. Lots of space, elegant modern furnishings, clever lighting and a huge comfy bed. The bathroom is equally well arranged and decorated. There is a communal kitchen with a coffee machine and DIY continental breakfast is provided which is a lovely touch. We particularly loved that there is a private terrace for guests where we could sit and have drinks and catch up, rather than being in a noisy restaurant or bar, although there is a bar downstairs and a good selection of restaurants either side if you need more entertainment. Soundproofing is good. All 4 rooms were booked but we did not hear any of the other guests and although there was some sound from the bar it was live music which we were happy to listen to drifting up to the terrace. There is no allocated parking so we parked in a nearby side street, but it is a very nice area so we had no concerns about leaving the car.

It’s on a river and there’s a canal nearby as well. The main part of the town is to the right of the station, but there are two pubs, restaurants takeaways to the left as well. There’s an old mill if you cross the river and go left.

Marple was an overnight stay on a motor trip from The Cotswolds and a tour trough the Peak District. We ate at the Norfolk Inn, an easy walk downhill from our B&B, but a challenge on return with heavy traffic, exhaust fumes from autos and trains. Really can’t review Marple beyond that, although the people in the pub were very nice.

It was like going back in time, £5.50 for the old fashioned cinema that has an ice cream sales (£3 for 2 ) interval mid film. An Italian, and nice food Cambodian restaurant. Bevi, a real ale bar where a pint, and a "half bottle" large glass of wine was £8.50. Canal side path walks, 16 locks, tallest aqueduct, the town is split by a river, with pubs, and restaurants both sides. There are clothes, nicnack, and charity shops for the ladies to browse, a rail station , and it proved to be a good base for a variety of trips/walks out.

Marple is a small village near the Derbyshire Dales, which is why we chose it. Within walking distance there was 2 pubs and an Indian and Chinese restaurant. We had a few drinks at the Norfolk arms, which had a band playing and was busy. Highly recommended. We then had a meal at the Indian Purple Pakora which was excellent.

I am biased because I was born and raised in Marple but it is still a wonderful place to visit. The Hive apartment is situated on the main pedestrianised street in the centre of Marple. Opposite is a cafe with tables on the street. It sells fresh bread and cakes and take away food. It also open for dining all day ,including evenings, and Sunday. There is an almost continental culture on the street with bars and cafes with tables outside. There are many restaurants all over town. My favourites are The Dolce Vita Italian restaurant and the Cambodian on Stockport Rd. five minutes walk from the apartment There are picturesque walks along the canal

Spotlessly clean, bright & airy apartment. Ideal for us 2 & our little dog. Comfy bed & well equipped kitchen. Nice little bath as well as a shower - you don't always get the option of both in self catering accomodation. In the centre of Marple near shops, pubs cafes, park & canal walks. Ideal for exploring the Peak District. Close to local bus services if you want to dump your car - free parking space right at the door of the apartment. Helpful & friendly host.
