It's a lovely town. Plenty of open space and parks.
It's a lovely town. Plenty of open space and parks. Good walks; wide streets, lots of trees and park areas. Surrounding area is picturesque. Architecture is interesting.Wide variety of eateries. Bus tour would have been better with a commentary (like Bath, Oxford & York). Town is much larger than 20 years ago. Road closures caused by roadworks were a pain but a great place to visit with lots going on throughout the year. Uplifting and vibrant.Treat yourself. GWSR & Promenade were highlights.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The history and buildings were really interesting.
The history and buildings were really interesting. Plenty of shops and cafes within easy walking distance. Museums, amphitheatre and art galleries were great. Friendly people and the tourist information was a hit. Wish we had more time to visit the park. The Parish Church of St John Baptist and the Augustinian Abbey of St Mary and the grounds are well worth a visit.Guest review byTiger 32Australia - 10.0

The village itself is picturesque with a shallow river running through it , which children and dogs liked splashing around in. There is a varied supply of shops to visit .... they even had a fantastic Christmas shop ! We dined in the village for the 3 nights we were there and there was plenty of choices of restaurants/pubs to choose from . In the village itself there was a motor museum , a miniature village , a maze and Bird land which housed a huge variety of birds from around the world and we were lucky enough to see the staff feeding the penguins there and telling us all , everything we probably ever need to know about Penguins. Every evening it seemed that most people were just strolling along the river bank of stopping for food or drinks in the many locations available there. I loved our visit to Bourton On The Water and will definitely returnGuest review byKennethUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely pub with very friendly and helpful staff - wonderful...
Lovely pub with very friendly and helpful staff - wonderful warm welcome. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty. Rooms hot but it was a heat wave. Some slight noise disturbances in one of our rooms - one a house alarm which was outside of the pubs control and the other was due to an early delivery - this was not a big issue and not enough to deter us from staying, but worth considering if you’re a light sleeper staying in one of the annex rooms. Rooms small in size but every you need and perfectly functional - lots of nice thoughtful little touches. Would recommendGuest review byWookeys74United Kingdom - 10.0

Our stay in Stow-on-the-Wold was charming and peaceful – cobbled streets, cosy tea rooms, and friendly locals at every turn. We wandered through antique shops, enjoyed hearty pub meals, and soaked in the Cotswolds’ timeless beauty. The perfect blend of relaxation and little adventures. Oh, and the cocktails! 🍸 We’ll definitely be back.Guest review byJonnyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Lovely town with some great shops.
Lovely town with some great shops. On street parking available free for 2 hrs. A lot of traffic in the main street. Being in the main built of Cotswold stone the town looks beautiful with many old buildings. It is built on a hill down to the Windrush so some level of fitness is required. The town is well worth exploring.Guest review byFrancisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We didn't stay in Stroud but in Amberley a village near by. It was fascinating, very interesting to walk around as long as you avoid the cow pats. Cows are allowed to graze and wander where they wish.Guest review byCarolUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Moreton on marsh is a beautiful town.
Moreton on marsh is a beautiful town. There’s a market there on Tuesdays. Great places to eat gorgeous fish and chip bar. The black bear Inn fantastic food. Bellini Italian restaurant fantastic. Stay away from the Thai restaurant (SIAM COTTAGE THAI) cold food which we waited 1 hr and 15 minutes for. Service below poor. Plus if you order soft drinks (J2O) they share the bottle between 2 glasses and charge for 2. We used go guide to see around the Cotswolds Elaine the guide was fabulous we visited many places Bourton on the water, Snowshill where Bridget Jones (first one) was filmed, chipping Campden, Cirencester - Bibury etcGuest review byBrendaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I believe Chipping Campden to be overall the best location in the Cotswolds. It has everything you need including pubs, a cocktail bar, restaurants, shops, a small mini-market, and the high street is picturesque and atmospheric. Just a lovely little town with great access to the rest of the Cotswolds. Da Luigi Italian restaurant is a particular find, with wonderful food and very friendly service.Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 6.0
The Thames is stunning and worth a stroll along.
The Thames is stunning and worth a stroll along. Sit and watch the birds, fish, boats, dragonflies, and people enjoying themselves. The Rose Revived Public House and Restaurant is not for fine dining but you can have a wonderful meal and a lovely drink in nice surroundings. The willows and gardens are lovely. The waitresses like Ella are well trained and full of life.Guest review byNicholas
