FAQs about hotels in Mexico City

Aztec Capital and Vibrant Metropolis

As one of the biggest cities in the world, Mexico City could be better described as an experience than a city. Founded in 1325 by the Aztecs as Tenochtitlan, it was both destroyed and rebuilt by the Spanish in the 16th century. Nowadays, it is the capital of the United Mexican States and its most important economic and cultural center.

The city center’s cornerstone is the famous Plaza de la Constitución, commonly called Zócalo. It's surrounded by the presidential Palacio Nacional and the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral.

The Avenida de la Reforma was built under the brief rule of Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian of Austria, while the deposed president Porfirio Díaz left a characteristic fusion of French-Mexican architecture. The 1960s saw a demographic explosion that only now is starting to be completely absorbed.

From the Chapultepec Parks and the chic Polanco, to the gay area of Zona Rosa and the Bohemian and intellectual Coyoacán: let Mexico City tell you its thousand secrets and stories.

Most of the hotels are located around the Reforma area, the Insurgentes Avenue and the Zócalo. If you’re looking for 5-star hotels in Mexico City, the modern Santa Fe area has a recently redeveloped business sector.

It is one of the most exciting cities in the world .

It is one of the most exciting cities in the world . A lot to see in terms of art ,history (especially anthropology) and of course culinary experiences. Getting around Mexico can be daunting but we used Uber and that was secure and clean. We did, however , had a bad experience the last day when the driver didn't show up and we missed our bus back home.

It seems like a chaotic place with too much of everything, but if you give it a chance, you will realise it's an amazing place with creativity on every corner! And warmth and sophistication and astoundingly good food and more than 100 museums and history everywhere. Go to the historical districts of San Angel and Coyoacan and you'll see what I mean

    Art & Museums:

Art & Museums: Frida Kahlo Museum (Casa Azul) in Coyoacán. National Museum of Anthropology, home to the Aztec Sun Stone. Street art and murals by Diego Rivera in public buildings. Architecture: Zócalo (Plaza de la Constitución): One of the world’s largest city squares. Palacio de Bellas Artes: Marble, murals, and a Tiffany glass curtain—fancy! Modern districts like Santa Fe bring shiny skyscrapers.

    Museums are great.

Museums are great. There are several tranquil, beautiful neighborhoods, like Condesa, Roma, etc. Getting around can be a challenge. Traffic is a nightmare. The Metro and Metro bus can get you anywhere, but it too can be chaotic.

Mexico City is a vibrant, endlessly fascinating place.

Mexico City is a vibrant, endlessly fascinating place. The energy is contagious, with culture woven into every street, from mariachi echoes in plazas to murals that tell centuries of stories. Its heritage sites and architecture are beautifully preserved, offering a glimpse into both colonial grandeur and pre-Hispanic roots. And the food? Absolutely scrumptious. Whether it’s street tacos, mole, or horchata water, there’s something delicious waiting around every corner. It’s a city that feeds both your curiosity and your appetite. My favourite places: Zocalo, Antopology museum and Frida Kahlo Museum.

    I loved Coyoacán.

I loved Coyoacán. So much to do and see here, and a pleasant respite from the center of Mexico City. I highly recommend this area for the tranquility and walkability, the markets and the parks. Mexico City has so much to see and do, there is something for everyone. I loved every minute of my stay. For food, you can go to the Michelin starred restaurants, but the street food is equally as good and you may have some good conversations while you are there. I didn't really enjoy the Centro Historico - it was way too crowded. But there are so many markets and places to visit, you can make Mexico City your own. You will need to return to continue to explore the wonders of the city.

My booking was never fulfilled by the Hilton. After 15-17 hours of flying, arriving at Mexico City Airport at 1am, I was told no rooms were available even though I booked it a week earlier. I was given no alternative and all the hotels close by were booked so I was forced to sleep on the floor at the airport. No airbnbs we’re even available to book at that hour. Worst hotel experience of my life.

The location, attached to the International Terminal at the Mexico City Airport, and near the buses, is perfect. It's easy to walk across the bridge to get food. There are restaurants in the hotel and nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful. The entry area is modern and attractive. Many conveniences are offered. Overall, it was fairly quiet, given the hotel is so near the airport.

The location is great just outside Mexico City Airport, with free shuttle bus taking us there from the airport. We couldn't enjoy the free breakfast as we had to leave early for our morning flight, but the hotel packed our breakfast, even though small and basic, it was wonderful.

The hotel doesn’t look like much from the street or the lobby, but the room was large and comfortable. The location just four short blocks from the center of Mexico City is its best selling point. This is a no frills, very inexpensive hotel with a very convenient location.
