FAQs about hotels in Bristol

From Brunel to Banksy!

Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol features Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the Avon River. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbor, where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.

Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I registered historic Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St. Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centers at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.

As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.

Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artist Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodations, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.

This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath rail line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.

What Guests Said About Bristol:

  • 10.0

Bristol is such a lovely city.

Bristol is such a lovely city. Visit the Cathedral, take the epic "Blackbeard to Banksy" guided tour (and search for street art during every single walk in the centre) and visit the Cabot tower (109 steep, twisting steps lead to stunning views across Bristol). Walk across the suspension bridge which spans the River Avon (a stunning piece of engineering!). Dining is great in the shipping containers CARGO on the waterfront, home to a host of independent eateries (we loved the Indian street food at Bandook kitchen). Flying out of the Bristol Hot Air Balloon Fiesta with over 100 hot air balloons is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

We stayed in the floating harbour area of Bristol which is busy and has a vibrant night life. It is also pretty central for getting to Bristol old centre and the shops. Walking and cycling is very easy around the city - special bike lanes and lots of bikes and scooters to hire. Great choice of restaurants within walking distance - we ate at COR and Box E. Both were excellent.

Bristol was fine, as always. I was there for a funeral, so I did not visit any of the attractions. I had paid for a second night, but went home, because the place I was staying in was so unsatisfactory.

We stopped off in Bristol for the night on our way to Pembrokeshire from Brighton. I would definitely recommend a stay in Bristol. In our short time we walked along the River Avon to see Banksy's Girl with Pearl Earring and the scenic Clifton Suspension bridge. The Clifton area of Bristol is beautiful with Georgian mansion houses alongside wide roads. We popped into the lovely Greville Smyth Park where my 14 year old (and I) had a play in the playground.

Great vibrant city - live music, comedy, restaurants, bars, museums - it’s got the lot. 100% recommend the Mshed museum (free entry) to learn about Bristol’s history, to explore the waterfront area with its bars and restaurants, see a Banksy or two, and climb Cabot Tower for 360degree views out over the city and surrounding areas!

Comfortable bed (and large as we had a super long size bed), polite and friendly staff. We had lounge access which was excellent - complimentary soft drinks during the day and beer/wine between 5:30-7:30pm plus some canapé food items. Great location for Bristol city centre and right next door to an NCP car park, for which the hotel gives discounted overnight parking. I found the hotel to be noisey from the outside noise, the curtains let quite a bit of light in around them as well.

Great city centre hotel, close to everything and less than 10 minutes from train station. We dropped our bags off and had an email that our room was ready early we had checked in online. I was celebrating my birthday and a nice little gift was left in the room which was lovely. The room was spacious and clean lovely bathroom and very quiet, we were on the 8th floor. We checked out online and everything was smooth and would stay again as we have family in Bristol.

The hotel is close to the city centre harbourside. Easy access to the vast amount of buses to get around Bristol. The room was pretty big, the bed was comfy, spacious bathroom. WiFi was ok - depending on how many people were using it at the same time (even though I had high speed internet access).
