Tours are great paranella park and kuranda are the 2 I recommend. There is plenty to do around cairns city. Muddies playground was just 5 minutes walk to the esplanade from where we stayed its more for younger children and there is a cafe next to it where you can order extra hot coffee. And the lagoon is great for those who love the water.Guest review byKim - 10.0

Walking distance to everything, easy to get around, plenty of choices for places to eat as well as a great Cole's supermarket. You can be as busy or as relaxed as you want to be. A road trip to Daintree, Cape Tribulation and the Wildlife Discovery Centre is easily done in a day. A boat trip up the Dickson Inlet is a fun and informative thing to do. Snorkelling out on the reef is a must if you have never done it.Guest review byTrishNew Zealand - 10.0

6 days of perfection.
6 days of perfection. Beautiful beach, enough establishments to eat somewhere different every night. We had a hire car but if you want beach resort and a day trip on a bus this is the location for you.Guest review byMichelleAustralia - 8.0
Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions.
Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions. Highly recommended for nature lovers, hikers and anyone who wants to get away from it all. Getting away from it all includes not a whole lot of phone reception, so take a printed map. Limited groceries available so if you are self catering best to shop beforehand in Cairns or Mossman.Guest review byChristineNew Zealand - 10.0
Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation.
Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation. A must see if you are heading to Cairns, Palm Cove or Port.Douglas. It’s is a world heritage site. We did indigenous tour at Mossman gorge which was great. Beautiful tropical trees and fauna. Fresh healthy air. You must do it!Guest review byMichymoo2706Australia - 8.0
The botanic gardens are a must.
The botanic gardens are a must. The separately themed gardens are well chosen. The James Cook museum is very interesting. If you don't want to go on a cruise or go fishing there's not much to do.Guest review byMarionAustralia - 10.0

There’s so much to see and do in and around Atherton, from nature walks and water falls to cafes and strawberry picking to gemstones and geocaching and everything in between. The cooler weather is a welcome escape from the humidity of the coastal areas. Accommodation types are many and varied so there is something to suit every budget. The Tablelands are a food lovers paradise with a relaxed country vibe.Guest review byNiss1234Australia - 4.0
To add to flying fish review -we found it unpalatable.
To add to flying fish review -we found it unpalatable. We booked for 5 nights but only stayed 2 due the fact there was no cafe at flying fish point although advertised. Also the staff were unavailable. Key was left with yard man as no one in office. Husband is disabled and it rained entire 2 days and when returning to cabin from car there was no mat inside to wipe feet on therefore floor was wet and hubby slipped over and injured himself so we returned home early. We are on age pensions and was trying to get hubby out of the house and it turned out to be hell.Guest review byLorisAustralia
