The bedroom led into a shared lounge, with chairs and 2 x 2 seater sofa, TV and snooker table and from there onto a balcony with 4 chairs and a sun lounger - overlooking the garden and a few yards beyond that, the sea. The food exceeded our expectaions and all the staff did too. It really was so nice to meet everyone who worked there and chat with guests from all over the world. Being located so close to the old town was a bonus. As was the lift down to and back from the lovely beach, which for a return trip of just £1 per person, was worth every penny! But then there was always the outdoor and heated indoor pool if you preferred not to get sand between your toes ; )

Beautiful location. We had a second floor room with a balcony overlooking the sea. I think we had the best room in the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Full service breakfast was cooked to order. Beautiful hand crocheted pillows throughout the lobby area. Easy keypad entry for early morning outings to take sunrise photos on the beach.

We stayed at the Q hotel, Shanklin for two nights to celebrate my Mum's 94th birthday. We explored the island during the days, visiting the Needles Landmark Attaction and the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary in nearby Sandown. We used Shanklin as a base. In the evening we wheel-chaired Mum down the very steep coast path to the seafront, before realising that there is a manned cliff lift all the way up and down... an excellent facility! Shanklin seafront and beach is very pretty with some great eating places. We went to the Steamer Inn, lovely food, service and ambience. The other evening we visited the Crab in the old village.

    A beautiful, hilly town.

A beautiful, hilly town. The old part of the town was picturesque and it was lovely to take a walk down Shanklin Chine. Food in the area was good with a great choice of restaurants. We had a nice meal at Cinnamons Indian restaurant as recommended by our hosts at the Ryedale.

Hopefully one day we shall be going back to visit. !! My daughter absolutely loved every second of it too. we all didn't want to have to leave but unfortunately we had too. Beautiful seafront location. Staff really friendly and helpful. The evening food was tasty and great value. Good choice on the breakfast menu. The coffee is excellent. Loved going to sleep to the sound of the waves breaking on the beach. Room was very clean, fresh and bright. Described as a budget room, excellent value. Location is great for exploring Shanklin old and new. We didn't need parking but plenty around (payable to IOW council.)

Beautiful property, exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms, a very friendly (family run) hotel - I visit the Island every couple of months and this is a 'real find'. Nice quiet location (a short walk from the Old Village), ample parking and even 2 bus stops (one towards Shanklin/Ryde and the other towards Godshill/Newport) right outside the hotel, if you fancy a day out without the car.
