Love this place. I'd eaten at the Orchid restaurant a few times over the years but never stayed at the hotel. I really like how close it is to the exhibition centre, town and pubs. It's a little quaint and quirky too, which I also like; I prefer unique and individual hotels to the bigger, corporate ones. The room was great. Good view, comfy, bathroom well appointed and shower very good. This was a solo business trip but next time I'll come with my partner!

The property was pristine and we were looked after by the hosts on arrival after a very minor key issue. The price of the room was reasonable compared to local alternatives and we were comfy for the night.

Sophisticated Victorian Spa Town

The elegant spa town of Harrogate has some of England’s finest Victorian architecture. Lush greenery and colourful flowers also add to the stately atmosphere.

The main attraction is the Turkish Baths and Health Spa, in a 19th-century building which maintains its original Moorish interior design. Nearby is the Royal Pump Room Museum, set over Europe’s strongest sulphur well and detailing the town’s history.

One ongoing Harrogate institution is Bettys Tea Rooms which serves fabulous afternoon tea. Surrounded by the unique shops of the Montpellier Quarter, it overlooks gardens which continue south to meet The Stray – over 200 acres of parkland whose vibrant spring blossom is quite a sight. On the opposite side of town are the Grade II-listed Valley Gardens, whose bandstand hosts summer concerts. The gardens merge into a pine wood which neighbours the acclaimed RHS Harlow Carr Gardens.

Aside from its visual beauty, the town is also important for conferences. Harrogate International Centre is one of the UK’s top convention venues - just one of the reasons why the accommodation industry here is thriving.

Options on Booking.com include 5-star hotels with spas, cheap apartments near the train station, and guest houses with parking. The nearest airport is Leeds Bradford Airport to the south.

Clean and peaceful with quality shops and restaurants (Bradley’s Fish and Chips, the best we have ever had) Train and bus services were punctual, and surprisingly cheap. Most of the buses were electric.

Very clean town what stood out to us as well as the beautiful gardens, lots of places to eat and drink etc, there were no idiots, thugs, scumbags or rough sleepers and beggars. It was a delight to walk through the town without feeling ill at ease as we do in some, not all, but some other towns.

Beautiful town - lots of green spaces, lovely buildings and so many flowers! Wetherspoons in the Winter Gardens was a lovely building and a good stop off point. The valley gardens were lovely for a stroll. The blues bar was a good find with 3 live bands on a Sunday and absolutely packed.

A beautiful town with many interesting buildings, lots of places to eat and drink. But if you want to visit the famous "Betty's tea rooms" be prepared to queue. Helps to be fit as you are either going up or down, very little on the flat. Another thing that impressed me was the public transport. Buses in particular were immaculate and drivers friendly and helpful.

What a beautiful hotel in the best possible spot to enjoy Harrogate! The staff were just lovely Breakfast was great, lots of choice, fresh and hot We booked for 2 nights, as returning guests who had loved our first stay The only complaint we had was being placed in a room with twin beds and a view facing a brick wall This was rectified on our second night to a much more suitable room with double bed and lovely view...but at an additional cost to us

Staff at The West Park Hotel were incredibly friendly and welcoming and were communicative prior to arrival. The breakfast options were plentiful and the options were chose were delicious. We didn’t eat there of an evening, but I’m sure this would have also been delicious. Our room was clean, spacious, well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself is located a short five minute walk from the centre of Harrogate.

Stayed at The Old Swan Hotel many times over the years. The room was well appointed, the bathroom had been recently renovated . Spotless and comfortable. Good night sleep. Ample car parking . There is a £12 fee per night. Parking in Harrogate is a problem .
