Great central location for attractions in The Vale of York, Yorkshire Coast and visiting York. Surrounded by some stunning countryside and villages. The hair and rabbit on the Whitby Road is in an excellent location for some good pub food with a lovely view. Pickering is a bit spread out and, what appears to be the main shopping street is on a fairly steep hill. There are a number of pub and restaurants but not all serve food during the week .Check dates before going if you are interested in having a preview of cars going into this month's Bangers for Cash auction. The auctions are closed to the public - phone and computer bids only. Thornton le Dale is a lovely village with river walks etc but the garage sells small times only.
