Great place to visit on short stay. Mother Shiptons Cave was a disappointment though as we were expecting a cave you could walk in but this is definitely not the case though so bear that in mind as £15.00 per adult is expensive. A lovely market town, quaint and friendly.
A lovely market town, quaint and friendly. Convenient to Harrogate, Skipton and York. Lovely riverside walk and boating opportunity. Plenty to do in and around the area. It’s quite hilly near the town. Had a great Steak & Ale pie at The Worlds End pub. knaresborough is a beautiful location to visit, with a wide variety of things to do, places to visit and scenic walks . Mother shiptons cave was very interesting and informative, well worth visiting. The boating on the nidd was a fun experience and good value for money. There are lots of interesting buildings to be seen in the area and beautiful gardens leading up to the castle. Good cafes - The Ugly Duckling and Caffe Lucca/Vinci both excellent Wonderful town for exploring- walk all along Waterside and Abbey Road, see the Chapel in the Crag and the House in the Rock Go past St John's House (half timber) on Church LAne and go on up to St John the Baptist church, lovely inside and out Go up to the Castle - we thought £4.20 to visit the ruined tower was a bit steep but the views down over the river where people are boating, r and across to the railway viaduct are matchless, you'll never forget them And I haven't even mentioned Mother Shiptons Cave yet Knaresborough is definitely different- highly recommendedGuest review byAnnaUnited Kingdom

Loved our stay with our pooch - The lodge has a fenced secure area for peace of mind. Easy drive of many North Yorkshire attractions Blue Bell pub has excellent food and is an easy 20 minute walk away, although it is over fields and along a bridle path so could get very wet and muddy in inclement weather Fabulous views over countryside and faces west so sunsets are spectacular.
