FAQs about hotels in Seattle

The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to the iconic Space Needle. Standing proudly at 600 feet, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 490 feet and has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle."

The Needle isn't far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also the place where the Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971. Enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store! Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!

Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from downtown and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com has a great choice for your Seattle trip.

We truly enjoyed our 3 day stay in Seattle - we could've stayed longer but we know we can always come back as it is just a 3 hour drive from Vancouver. The people we met were all friendly and accommodating. Made a few friends in the process! Seattle is one of those cities that is meant to be explored leisurely! We also enjoyed our ferry ride to and back from the beautiful Bainbridge Island.

Pike Place Market interesting to visit but fruit prices over the top way too expensive. Would never buy there again. Did Beneath The Streets underground tour and the tour guide was knowledgeable and informative and factual. Waterfront area views pleasant. We took a taxi from accommodation to sights as it was cheap to do that and go directly to what we wanted to see as the streets were sloped in areas and harder for over 60 yo's to walk. Space Needle was on the to do list and Chulilly gardens but did not have enough time in the 2 days we had. Enjoyed lunch at Buckleys cnr of 2nd Avenue. Great food and value for money. Great service and good atmosphere and decor.

    Great city.

Great city. Get the CityPass to enjoy up to 5 of 7 recommended tourist attractions. Stay close to Pike Market as loads of food to eat is around there. Yellow cabs are cheaper than Uber but longer wait time. As with most cities, there are loads of homeless people and many stores are taking precautions against this by limited access to their stores. The Crab Pot is highly recommended for a seafood boil, Icarus’s for clam chowder and the Ponk Door for late dinner.

The city is interesting. Love to walk to downtown Seattle, to see the market place and the restaurant. Yummy bread @ Piroshky and also buy coffee @ Starbucks-Pike Place Market. Visit the Space Needle and experience thrilling view over the skyriser glass benches.

    The wineries were great.

The wineries were great. My favorite was St Michelle—close by and beautiful. Hiking the Little Si or the Rattlesnake was fun! Restaurants—Saltys across the bay! Tera Plata was great. Vendemmie was a great Italian restaurant. Macrina was a lovely little bakery and eatery for morning or lunch. Chambers Bay for golf was awesome! Just walking the wharf was beautiful!

One of the best priced hotels in downtown with seriously the the best facilities. I had an alimony in seattle and decided to make it a relaxing getaway as well so the facilities were a big deal. Didn’t disappoint with MULTIPLE pools, steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs and even a plunge pool at no extra cost. The workout facilities were excellent, The rooms were more than well equipped with a full size fridge/freezer, stove, oven and a large deck for hanging.

I am updating my review for more details -- the hotel's location is excellent. It's right in the downtown area of Seattle, close to most tourist attractions, and is very safe to walk at night. The room is also spacious and quiet despite being close to the highway. Even though the hotel is under construction, there is a printer in the lobby area, which was very helpful because I was there to attend a conference. The hotel staff were very friendly.

Road trip with the Girls and this hotel suited us perfectly. It was only an 8-minute walk to Seattle Centre (Space Needle (great spot for the views & wine!), Chihuly gallery, etc., and an easy 15-20min walk to Pike Place Market and Downtown shopping. Citizen Cafe, only a few blocks away, became our destination breakfast spot each of the 3 mornings. The beds were super comfy, and the Pineapple theme with whimsical furnishings & decor was cute!

I was extremely grateful to pay a small fee and get into my room several hours early. I’d just come from a 10 night cruise before returning home to Victoria the following morning and was beyond exhausted. Also, the complimentary bag breakfast was much appreciated. Also, the close proximity to the space needle and MOPOP was absolutely perfect! The Travelodge on 6th is reasonable and located in a safe and convenient area of downtown Seattle.

The hotel oversees the waterfront which gives a good view especially at night. The hotel also oversees the Seattle great wheel. The wheel offers a panoramic view of the city skyline. The museum, the aquarium and the Pike market place contribute to the vibrant and diverse cultural landscape of downtown Seattle where the hotel is strategically located making it a popular destination for visitors and locals alike.

What makes this property great though is it’s convenient location to Pike Place Market and the Waterfront. just a few blocks of walking will get you to the heart of this prime area to visit when in Seattle. Additionally, if you are taking a cruise they offer a convenient $15/person shuttle to the cruise terminal.
