FAQs about hotels in Munich

Beyond Oktoberfest

Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.

Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall, or Glockenspiel, in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.

For great shopping, Karlsplatz is a pedestrian zone which takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse is yet another commercial wonderland. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.

Thanks to efficient S-Bahn train, getting to the city center from Germany’s second busiest airport, Munich International Airport is quick and easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, youth hostels or comfortable apartments, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Munich visit.

Munich centre is always full of people, even on Sunday with all shops closed, its packed with people eating and drinking and watching the glockenspiel show on the town hall clock tower. The Beer kellers are fantastic, there are terrace cafes and resaurants eveywhere. No cars near the city centre. The locals all eat and drink in the centre, its not just tourists. The market is brilliant. All the Beer gardens are fabulous. The public transport is cheap and amazingly good (9.60 euro per day for bus+tram+underground). bus, tram, underground all arrive every few minutes and late into the night. You will never need a taxi/uber! My favourite city in Germany so far. Englisher Garten is a massive park full of beer gartens! The people are pretty freindly. Beats Berlin and Hamburg and they are pretty amazing.

We were only in Munich for a day and a half and just could not fit it all in without it being chaotic. Great restaurants and shopping and a lot to do in the city itself, not to mention to easy connectivity to other great spots (Nuremberg, southern Bavaria, Regensburg, Rothenburg and historic sites like Dachau). I would have loved to have had 4 days for the city itself.

Found Munich to be an incredibly beautiful city, fairly accessible to all abilities and very clean. I had to split my trip over 2 half days, which I wouldn't recommend (had the Thursday and the Monday, would've been better 2 back to back days), as I was unable to venture out to the palace. I spent the 2 half days just walking the streets around the old town, taking in all of the architecture, the English Gardens are fantastic and would recommend. I found that the small shops selling fresh pastries to be the best spots for food, and had lunch on the go for both days

Meh, so much construction everywhere. Not very accessible with train station lacking ramp on one end. Roads are old and beat up. Traffic crossings aren't intuitive and I've travelled around quite a bit. Old Town is nice. The BMW museum was nice but too crowded. I've enjoyed other cities more (Leipzig, Bonn, Stuttgart)

I studied in Munich 30 years ago and coming back with my family was a much wanted experience. Walking from Sendlinger Tor to the ChinesischenTurm, at the Englischer Garten... you must visit Asamkirche, via Viktualienmarkt (grab a bier, a brez'n, a pickle), at Marienplatz watch the clock, stop at Hofbrauhaus and have more beer and the schweinhaxen, move on to Odeonsplat via der Residenz, then move to Konigsplatz before turning to the Alte Pinakothek where you can enjoy some of the best artists humanity has produced, continue to the Englischer Garten (rent a bike if you like... kids loved to ride), and finish with another bier at the ChinesischenTurm.

I love creative and carefree vibe of the Glockenbachviertel in Isarvorstad and I love this small boutique style hotel that just a perfect fit for the neighborhood. We had dog with us and it was absolutely hassle free. Rooms are beautiful, bar is the must. And yeah.. best ever pretzels for breakfast. Don’t miss it. Host/bartender is an awesome guy. Overall we had very pleasing experience and well spent night in Munich. Many thnks.

Great location, very close to the Hauptbahnhof central station and local Trams. We found the staff very friendly, and approachable. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails in the hotel bar (Fantastic). Our room was a city view, lovely room with all amenities we required. We'd highly recommend the Boutique Hotel Atrium Munich for anyone looking for a city centre location.

I definitely stayed in finer hotels in my life but Imperial is good value for money. Rooms are clean and spacious, staff is kind and helpful, you can park your car just in front of the hotel if you are a bit lucky. City centre of Munich is easily reachable by S-Bahn from Pasing station, less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Spacious room, cleaning service every day. Location is fine, though not a walking distance from the city centre and the main tourist attractions. A tram stop is nearby but the ticketing system in Munich is a bit cumbersome. Not the Hotel's fault. I didn't try breakfast in the hotel, so I can't tell much about it.
