Marlow
Marlow's Emerald 3 Bedroom House is located in Marlow, 6.2 miles from Cliveden House, and provides a patio, garden, and free WiFi. The hosts were very contactable and remained so for the duration of the trip. The house was very homely yet impersonal. I always find it a bit strange to stay in someone's house when they have lots of photos up. This is a home designed for travelers with everything you need. I loved that they had coffee, tea, milk and tooth brushes on hand. The beds were comfy, the wifi was easily accessible and the house was lovely and warm.
Marlow is an upmarket small town with shops and good restaurants and on the river Thames. Worth a few hours but mainly an upmarket residential area rather than a 'tourist' destination - though relatively close to lots of other places like Windsor and London...
Friendly staff, great room, very comfortable bed and black out curtains meant a great sleep experience for us. Hubby enjoyed the gym and we loved the local walk along the river was very nice in the sunshine. Quiet area with no road or rail noise. Great breakfasts and good hot food with lots of choice. We plan to return with the family as a great lawn area and children's climbing area. A very pleasant experience. Great shopping in Marlow and lots of places to eat there as well. Nice shopping and National Trust visit make our stay very good indeed.
We had a beautiful room, really worth staying, and will return. Marlow was lovely too, away from the bustle of life. only there for one night, traveling through really. the best place we stayed, Dog and Badger. Nice staff helpful and friendly.
Went to visit Tom Kerridges restaurants & bars. Managed to get into all 3, even though only one could be booked prior to our stay. Hand & Flowers ticked every box & then some. Couldn't fault it. Coach we managed to book the morning of the day wanted to go. They only take bookings from 9am on the day. Triple cooked chips were just the best ever but be warned, portion size is very generous, so better as a sharing plate. Butchers Cut doesn't take booking but we managed to get in without waiting. Probably because we went early. Another meal that didn't disappoint. Marlow is an historic town & lovely to walk around. Perfect for any foodie, there are so many places to dine & drink. Recommend you pop into the Chequers for an enjoyable afternoon or evening. Lots of lovely shops too.
We regularly visit Marlow and have previously stayed in varying accommodations at different times of the year. The town centre alongside the Thames and local park with river trips to Henley is always popular and you don’t have to travel far to visit other iconic places of interest with Cliveden and Windsor close by.
Very pretty town. Lots of nice quality shops and boutiques, and a few interesting art galleries. Lovely walks along the riverside Excellent choice of restaurants, bars and cafés Stayed at The Complete Angler which I would definitely recommend for location, breakfast and facilities - a few minutes stroll over the bridge into town and free parking on site. We ate dinner at The Ivy which was recommended and didn’t disappoint!
