Full of character, very old building, creaky floors, but decorated very tastefully. A very ‘cosy’ place to stay with log burners lit, small bar and lounge area, super breakfast, and very friendly staff

Great location, heart of town, a few blocks from side entrance to Blenheim Palace gardens -- go up the main street until it dead-ends and you will enter the totally beautiful gardens! We enjoyed our first experience of a "room over pub", just like in the olden days. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff was kind and helpful and energetic. Bed was comfy. After hours exit was interesting but manageable (separate stairway, separate key -- but it worked fine).

The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed family time sitting and visiting a long time each morning over breakfast because the setting, food, and service were all so nice. The bus stop right outside the hotel
Was an added bonus for us which we were not expecting. My parents were able to take the bus into Oxford to meet my daughter and me for dinner, allowing us to go in several hours ahead of them to enjoy the city while they rested.

Absolutely charming hotel, just what I expected with a building of this history. Breakfast and dinner were very good and parking was sufficient. Location for Blenheim is ideal

Gorgeous restoration of an historic home. Beautifully outfitted with everything we needed, and a short stroll into the village.

Woodstock is so charming and it feels like a step back in time. The people were so friendly and helpful! We walked everywhere in town (it's not that big). There is a wide variety of restaurants, and most of the prices were reasonable. Our favorite by far was the Star Inn with their fish and chips deal. We also enjoyed The Kings Arms pub for after dinner drinks. The best part is the easy walk to Blenheim Palace, which is absolutely worth your time! I can't wait to go back and spend more time in Woodstock.

Also convenient for a visit to Winston Churchill's grave at Bladon Church.
Warm, relaxed welcoming front of house management style. Original design and colour schemes of rooms is exceptional, as is the standard of cleaning. Great bar and restaurant areas in a lovely hotel in the centre of Woodstock.
Also huge thanks to Rich and Freya for items retrieved that we left in our room!
