Company info

I’ve lived in leafy S E London for 40 years, arriving straight from university. It’s such a great place to be. It feels almost like living in the country, but is so close to town, and everything that makes Woolwich and Greenwich such a justifiably famous World Heritage Site is right on your doorstep. There are countless great pubs, wine bars, restaurants, cinemas, and shops in walking distance, the O2 close by, and great public transport to access central London, but the off-street parking for your car and quick access to the A2, A20 and M25 mean that a trip to the countryside or coast is easily done too. I may not necessarily be around but am always available by phone, text or email and the guest info file contains lots of useful information.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish & very historic space. Connaught Mews is a stunning listed building dating from the 18th century, with high ceilings & tall sash windows. Formerly the officers mess of Woolwich Garrison it is now elegant gated apartments, with off-street parking, a tennis court & great public transport nearby. The flat is newly renovated & decorated, luxuriously equipped, & perfectly situated to have lovely views across the peaceful, extensive & beautifully kept grounds. Please ASK ME if you would like to stay for more than 30 days. It may be possible, subject to pre-existing bookings, but for UK tax reasons a stay extending beyond 30 days needs to be on a separate reservation.

Neighborhood info

Woolwich is massively historic, and Connaught Mews in its military days was a major part of that. The grounds are extensive; outside the gates Woolwich Common is 2 minutes walk away, with central Woolwich a 5 minute walk. The riverside path to glorious Royal Greenwich with its wealth of museums, Park, Rangers House, Observatory and Meridian is a very interesting 1 hour stroll, passing the Thames Barrier, the O2, Greenwich yacht club and hundreds of interesting buildings, including many wonderful pubs, before if you like continuing on to Tower Bridge and the rest of London. Alternatively you can take the Thames Clipper for a scenic river ride, whilst public transport options include double decker red buses, the DLR, Elizabeth Line and trains. Heathrow takes 72 minutes, City Airport 17 minutes. Gatwick 90 minutes, Luton 95, Stansted 96. The port of Dover is 90 minutes drive away. More locally by public transport you can reach Greenwich in half an hour, the Tower in 40 minutes and central London in less than an hour. The off street parking at Connaught Mews (a rarity in London) is gated, safe and free to guests.
