The Vatican

The world’s smallest state is also one of its most attraction-packed spots. As the center of the Catholic Church, Vatican City is full of breathtaking religious architecture and artistic treasures. Must-sees include the imposing St. Peter’s Basilica—so vast that the Statue of Liberty could fit comfortably under its dome—and the mesmerizing frescoes at the Sistine Chapel.

A huge collection of just about everything - much more than Versailles or Ermitage ... But the main thing is the one that they won't let you take pictures of - in Sistine chapel Michelangelo drew God from behind - showing naked butt. Bold move - not just by Michelangelo, but also from the Church's point of view for allowing it. Opens up a whole new chapter of what Church is about ...

Impressing architecture, massive collons, even though it was crowded you dont feel it since the area is quite huge and there's no rush or any kind of panic by the visitors. People travelling there by themselves of with families, whenever tired always may have sit on the cool marble stairs and ground under the shadow of the buildings. Recommended to everyone visiting Rome.

Get a guide who doesn’t bore you to tears and also stop letting so many people in at one time. Too crowded, couldn’t see anything. Despite warnings to not use your camera in the Sistine chapel and to keep quiet, it was full of people talking loudly, taking photos and generally being pains in the ass!

Basilica closed due to the Conclave. Museum was awesome, but tour guide moved us through the throngs of visitors so quickly we couldn't really focus on the amazing exhibits. Interesting to note, they keep the windows open without glass or screens. Very old school - we liked it.

The location was very close to the Vatican short walk there and back. Nice shopping in the area, some really good restaurants. They also had an excellent blow dryer. Most hotels put a cheap blow dryer in the rooms that over heat if you use it for longer than five minutes.

Everything was perfect. The place itself is clean and comfortable, the air conditioner really helps when outside is very hot. Also, everything is so close by. Just a few minutes walk to the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Vatican City, and other amazing places. There is also a bus stop right outside of the apartment building and a metro just a few blocks away. We really enjoyed our stay here

This apartment was central to everywhere in Rome. 25 min walk to the coliseum, 15 to the trevi fountain, 20 mins to the Spanish steps, 22 min to the Vatican, parking lots within 5 minutes if you had a car. Super clean and really great. Situated right over the daily market and great nightlife with restaurants all around you as well

The location is excellent for those who want to visit Trastevere and is also close to the center (Piazza Navona). The Vatican is a bit of a walk. The apartment is spacious and in a quiet area. The kitchen is well-equipped. The two main bedrooms are comfortable. A good-sized living room allowed the family to gather for meals and conversations.

Very nice and cute apartment. Available, always working and spacious elevator (for me was important). Apartment had all needed utensils, was very clean. Staff (Nicholas) always available and gentle. Great location, near the Vatican and Vatican Museums, short walking distance from Metro Ottaviano, and with lots of of choices for coffee shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Would come back any time!
