We wanted to splurge one night in NY, for our 46th anniversary. ( The Carlyle documentary dvd is a favourite of ours.) We normally stay in the Theatre district as we watch a lot of shows. The concierge, Diana, with whom I corresponded, was very thoughtful to send a Bemelman’s Manhattan bottle with tasty hors d’oeuvres. The aides who met us outside, who helped bring our luggage in and got us taxis were very kind. The room was spacious and quiet. Housekeeping brought us large mugs and a tea kettle for our morning tea. Bemelman’s itself is a gem, we loved again the convivial hospitality and service, and enjoyed the piano player.

Breakfast not served which is fine with me. Staff is amazing and very helpful. Quaint hotel but perfect for New York. Not much time in the room if you are there to visit New York and all it has to offer.

There is a great Central Park app that identifies every tree...

There is a great Central Park app that identifies every tree in the park. I love Central Park but never really appreciated it until I moved here. I recommend an entire day wandering around -Sunday is ideal - go to Strawberry Fields to hear a lot of Beatles covers.

I thought a midnight stroll through Central Park would be...

I thought a midnight stroll through Central Park would be peaceful… maybe even magical. I was so wrong. The park was dark, empty, and straight-up creepy. I tried to convince myself it was fine — until I saw a rat. Not just any rat. This thing was the size of a cat, casually scurrying like it owned the place. I froze. Then I saw another. And another. At that point, I sat down on a bench to gather my courage… but every sound made me jump. It felt like I was in a horror movie. I was convinced I’d either get mugged or dragged off by a mutant rat army. I booked it out of there so fast, I didn’t even look back. Central Park might be lovely during the day, but at midnight? It's a no from me.

Loved our horse and carriage ride through Central Park. This was a fabulous way to see a lot of the areas in as short a time as possible. Some beautiful fountains and architecture throughout this park and we loved our time there.

Nice. Be prepared to stay the day to experience it all.

Nice. Be prepared to stay the day to experience it all. We started our day with a horse carriage ride throught the park to get our bearings. Ate Lunch at Tavern on the Green--must call and make reservations! You can also go to their website to purchace gift card! Rode the old carasol, went to the Central Park Zoo, Strawberry fields, the Home Alone Tunnel, ventured over to see the Plaza Hotel and the famous toy store, walked to the Natural History Museum. You can also walk to the Mtropolitan Museum of Art! Would have loved to have more time to rent a bike--would have been fun. It's huge and would take a day to truely enjoy--lots of walking.

Central Park is a wonderful place to get away from the...

Central Park is a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of New York city. Located smack in the middle of the city you can explore and enjoy so many outdoor activities like the Zoo, ice skating, Belvedere Castle, Playgrounds for children, running, reading and even people watching is a thing.

Book the horse and cart ride with the group that have a team waiting on a line to the left as you base the park, they will take 5 people and it’s cheaper. They people that bombard you say 4 max so if there are 5 you have to get w carts… this is not the case. Was nice to be shown a route round, be informed of the local landmark and then walk round a different route to see them again on our ouwn time. It’s worth going to the visitor centre for a map.

The hotel is in a perfect location, close to many landmarks and several subway stations. It’s walking distance to Times Square, Central Park, Bryant park, and the Empire State Building. The room was surprisingly quiet and we couldn’t hear any street noise. The staff was so friendly too

Coffee was outstanding - Beds were comfortable, but for the rate, two feather / down pillows wouldn't go unappreciated. Filtered water and ice was supplied in the common hotel hallway (VERY much appreciated) Location to Central Park, Times Square, the Edge, the Vessel, the Highline, the subway, Madison Square Garden, and Masquerade was perfect. Friendly front desk staff.

This is not a luxury hotel and there are not private bathrooms in most rooms but an incredible value Rooms are not a big but clean and comfortable bed with AC and mini-fridge Great location right near Lincoln Center and Central Park Use of a great gym in the building And excellent staff. I want to especially thank Amelia at the front desk who helped get resolution from management of a billing issue because of a misunderstanding. Highly recommended for those whom this meets their needs

The room has a good size. The shower os powerful, very comfortable bed. The building is beautiful and very well located. The location is superb. In front of MOMA, close to the Rockefeller, theathers, shops, a short walk to central park. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in New York. Easy to go in and out.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. It was close to the subway, and if you enjoy walking, you could easily walk north toward Central Park or south toward downtown. Other than the convenient location, the hotel itself was awful and did not really have any other positives. Next time I visit NYC, I would definitely not stay here again, because you can find much better hotels in similarly good locations for the same price, but with much better quality.

Our stay at the riverside hotel was absolutely fantastic! We would definitely stay here again. The location is amazing. it’s just two blocks away from the subway, so we could easily walk to Central Park. The view from our room was beautiful, and the hotel was incredibly clean.

We stayed in room 911, a spacious apartment with a kitchen. The rooms were much bigger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. The location is unbeatable! Everything was within walking distance: Port Authority, Broadway theaters, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, and more. We never needed public transportation! The staff was very helpful: after check-out, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel, which was very convenient and allowed us to enjoy a few more hours in the city.

Clean and Luxurious! My room was wonderful and clean, boasted a half view of Central Park. Housekeeping was fantastic and the general amenities were lovely. Room service was delicious. The staff was so kind! I don’t typically stay at hotels of this calibre but they certainly know how to do luxury and treat its patients. They even have elevator attendants!

The location was nice between Central Park and Time Square. It is also close to the subway. They had a free water which was nice to use to refill our bottle before leaving the hotel for the day. Also free coffee in the morning.
