Lovely view, staff exceptional from breakfast servers to reception to rooms made up daily. They were also Professional, fun and informative. We stayed in the converted barn part of the inn that is around the corner from the pub. It was really nice, high end, and recently renovated. There was a common room to hang out in too. We had great weather and were able to hang out in the garden but I think it would be really nice in the winter too since there is a fireplace. The pub had excellent food and the staff was great. We loved it and hope to go back.

All of the facilities are spot on as is the location. The food and drink was all great - we had an evening meal and breakfast. But most of all it's the attitude of the staff - so welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic. Thank you.

The location was excellent with plenty of onsite parking. All of the food and drinks we had were top notch. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were heading out for a potter around Skipton and a lovely lady gave us great recommendations of where to go. We had fantastic weather and were able to take advantage of the beautiful beer garden, though even if it had started to rain there were a number of cute little covered cabins for waiting out the rain in. The bed was super comfy and the shower was tall enough my 6'4" husband could comfortably stand under the rain shower head! We would absolutely stay here again and were sad to have to leave this incredibly charming place.

    Cayton Bay and Peasholme Park are our favourite places to visit. Great nature walk all around and the secret garden. Lookout on the Pier is an amazing place to eat and the fish & chips from the pier. Lots to do for families and solo travellers.

    There is just something about Whitby that keeps pulling us back. Fabulous place although the hills are a bit much for me now. Amazing little backstreets always something new to do. Great walks for those who have dogs. Such a dog friendly place. We just love Whitby, go at least 2 times a year. Abbey Wharf a great place to eat.

    Harrogate is a very interesting place.

    Harrogate is a very interesting place. It has plenty of history. We particularly liked the Pump House because it explained how much work went into running and maintaining a spa. The parks and gardens were lovely. Well kept. It's a shame one can't taste the waters

    Skipton exceeded our expectations.

    Skipton exceeded our expectations. We were only there for the weekend for a celebration of a wedding. We got a day to explore. So much on offer! Canal boat trips, walks, castle local market on in the High Street. Lots of winding alleys to sweet independent shops and bakeries. More bars and pubs and cafes than I've seen anywhere! Beautiful Town Hall with a fantastic little museum that was great for kids too, with lots of interesting hands on experiences. I highly recomend a visit. Great 'Makers Market' going on too in the hall. A super base to see the Dale's and surrounding area.

    Like every other town could do with a bit of a facelift and money into it. Not much to do but nice peaceful and could do with a good Chinese as our takeaway was awful!! Cobbles all over were awful and some areas cars were driving over loose rocks and god knows what damage to the undercarriage to their cars . Very long drive for only two nights don’t think we’ll ever be back

    Knaresborough is a lovely little town with a fabulous iconic view from the castle over to the viaduct. Beautiful walk at the side of the River Nidd to St James' Retail Park and visit the Watermill Cafe on the edge of the river.

    We weren't there long enough to really get to know the village (town?) but it looked as if there were some interesting walks for the dogs, an interesting river,birdwatching oportunities etc, and quite a few pubs for a place that size! Always a good shout. It also lacked a really busy main road cutting through (at least, from where we were staying) so not much traffic noise and easy to get about without getting knocked down!

    The location of The Horseshoe Inn was ideal as we wanted to visit Scarborough, Eden Camp and Whitby and they were all within easy reach by car. We had three great days out and the weather was kind to us and perfect for sightseeing. Still lots that we want to see in and around this location so another visit is extremely likely.

    Been a few times to Filey for day trips but never stayed. First time we'd been up into the town, was pleasantly surprised by the lovely independent shops, lovely bars and restaurants. Beach was beautiful, one of the best I've seen on the east coast. Will definitely return.
