destination reviews from real travellers

How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

(this is such a bonus for travellers like us who travel fairly light and like to launder/iron their clothing at the appartment) The shower....probably the best shower we've had and certainly the most powerful. Absolutely stunning location. If we're ever up that way again, we'd definitely look at booking here. The grounds were fantastic, and the lodge itself was stunning (I genuinely didn't want to come home) We stayed in Little Tithe Barn, and it was just dreamy. It's extremely dog friendly. Our Milo loved sitting in the window and observing. He had lots of space outside to roam and go about his business and play with his beloved ball! It was clean, cosy, comfy, and in a great location. Didn't really see any people (other guests or staff) apart from as we were departing, and he was a very lovely chap!

There was nothing we didn't like. I will say, however, given that it is dog friendly, there was nowhere to put your used poop bags. We didn't want to put them in the bin in the barn due to the smell, and the black bins weren't available whilst we were here. As a general suggestion, perhaps somewhere communal outside the barns where poop bags can be disposed of in the case of the black bins not being available. Thankfully, we bumped into a lovely chap as we were leaving (we'd kept the bags tied up outside the barns front door for our stay) who very kindly offered to dispose of them for us (we did offer to take them home!)

The bed was very comfy, lovely garden, great location, parking was ok and breakfast was suitable for our needs - not hot option but we knew that and didn't want it - the continental breakfast was spot on for what we wanted with gluten free options. The real difference was that the staff were all really friendly and helpful. Additionally they went over and above for our stay - they went out of their way to do a number of things for our anniversary inc. strawberries, ice bucket, balloons, card and parking which was so lovely, unexpected and really appreciated - thank you!

Nothing - we were there just for a weekend of pottering and all was very nice, clean and comfortable. Forced to pick I would say that the shower/shower room whilst good was a little on the small side, but that is an old building and really wasn't an issue and don't be last down to breakfast as some of the items ran out but really our stay was fab and the staff were great.

The whole apartment was extremely clean, comfortable, modern and well kept. It had everything you needed and only a few minutes walk to the main street in Pitlochry. I would happily recommend this apartment to family and friends. Thank you for the lovely welcome basket with delicious biscuits and jams, it was a lovely surprise

The staff including the cleaners were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The food and drink was excellent and plenty of it. We would definitely stay again when in the area.

    • Negative section of review

We had a superior room which was large and comfortable but only had one small spotlight in the ceiling, so we had to put all the smaller lights on around the room to get enough light. The bathroom although a good size could do with some updating. Obviously these are only minor issues.

      Location

    • Negative section of review

All the reviews are from the previous time the Hall was open, they are not current and not relevant. We stayed three nights in April 24 and this is a current and true account. You would struggle to find a more beautiful location and the furnishings in our suite were expensive, however we move on. We were the only guests. On arrival we were met by the young Lady who I assume is the manager, very pleasant and has been front of house for a month, she had no knowledge whatsoever of the area which was disappointing. Her attire for what strives to be a very upmarket B&B is not what one would expect. When we arrived the first thing we heard were barking dogs, when greeted the first question was 'do you like dogs as we have two German shepherds' we do but not barking ones that are roaming loose, not a great start, Reading previous reviews it would appear that breakfast was wonderful, that is not the case now, Orange juice is not fresh, there is no meat whatsoever on the menu except Chicken sausages, no bacon, no ham, nothing, the owner is of a faith that does not eat pork so all guests musts follow suit! The fact that there are beef sausages, game sausages and venison sausages is overlooked, there are no kippers, smoked mackerel etc. So in essence the menu is very limited, we opted for the poached eggs and they arrived hard, all very disappointing. It's not surprising there are so many negative breakfast comments, additionally they do not start serving until 8.30 and although we were the only guests it took nearly an hour to get two poached eggs each ! our suite was beautifully furnished, however all pillows were soft, no choice, the duvet one could have used to scale Everest, again no choice, heating controls were totally unfathomable, the fire is simple a big black hole, even some artificial flowers would have brightened up the dark space.
