The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.
2
When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Great host/owner with a keen firsthand understanding of the history and recent troubles this emerging city has to offer. It is in a Catholic area so people are more welcoming and tolerant of strangers.

Quite noisy between rooms. It is a private house but that lends character and connectedness to the visit.

The breakfast was very good, and the hostess was exceptionally helpful.

The room, even after an upgrade, was still a little small with 2 travelling people with suitcases.. This facility uses the name Hotel but is, or should be called a Guest House. There is NO assistance with carrying suitcases up 16 medium steps, then a further 6 very high steps to the reception, and yet another 12 or more steps to your room not suitable for elderly or people with medical conditions.

The location is good.

. It was like stepping through a time portal back to the 70s/80s- heavy eiderdowns, skinny pillows, mahogany fittings, real key with humongous room number hanging off it.

The bed was comfy

The room was extremely small, there was rubbish down the back of the dressing table, the towel rail was red hot and you could burn yourself on it if you weren't aware of it, we have stayed at a few places in ambelside and this was the worse by far especially for the price too. Also when we arrived we had to wait for 20mins before somebody seen to us as they were to busy serving people at the bar, shocking set up. Won't stay here again

Noisy air conditioning fan came on at 0500 and woke me up. Instructions to aircon control panel were for a different model so took some time to work it out. It then turned on again an hour later
