Location was superb, really close to everything and the car park was just across the road and only £5 for 24 hours. The staff were really friendly and helpful and offered free tea coffee and biscuits in the bar area which was nice when we got back from a busy day.

It was quite noisy as we were overlooking the street with all the bars on however it didn't bother me as I loved the location but if people are bothered by noise I'd say don't book a central location.

Being stared at and made to feel extremely uncomfortable by a large group of foreign men in the swimming pool, me being the only white person in there with my son. I felt very unsafe. Absolutely unacceptable in my own country. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this hotel for this reason. It’s just a hotel now catering for a certain group of people and their archaic values and beliefs. You are not treated well as a white woman.

The room on the front was poor. Very hot due to radiators on and unable to turn off. Air con with big hose out of the window meant it was very noisy with traffic all night. Slip hazard climbing out of the shower down narrow step. Not enough plug sockets.

The bedrooms are very tired and our room would benefit from new mattresses and pillows. The ‘hot’ items in the buffet breakfast were only warm . Parking at the hotel is challenging as on arrival there were no spaces.

I didn’t like the restaurant staff, the “front of house” guy was unaware how to run the restaurant. I had organised a special birthday treat for my husband. That was forgotten about! We were left waiting for drinks, starts arrived before drinks order was taken. When asked where our drinks were, the waiter replied we should have ordered them ages ago and we have to wait while he chuckled.. to which I told him not to blame us for the poor organisation of the restaurant. He ignored us and walked off. Still waiting for drinks with the meal.. and same palaver getting coffees. Felt it was a waste of money. I won’t go in to what the waitress did.. I was fuming by the end of our beautiful stay. Alex on reception was fantastic!
