The site was perfect for us exploring the southern Lakes, Arnside/Silverdale and Kirby Lonsdale area. The lodge was superb and really homely. The owner's communication was spot on and it's clear that they simply want guests to feel welcome and comfortable. The site looks lovely but we didn't stay long enough to use the facilities or wander around... you get the impression that the residents care about their site and it's spotless and well maintained. It just has a good vibe about it

It's not something that I didn't like but I was worried about the proximity to the M6 before I booked. It may be an issue for some guests but we found it not to be a problem at all. I prefer peace and quiet usually but there's no getting away with the fact that there is a hiss of tyres on tarmac from the motorway when you're outside on the decking however I must stress that your brain does tune it out and it disappears. When you're in the lodge it is barely noticeable. I think the site owners have done a great job with the noise cancelling landscaping. Don't let it put you off, I would revisit the lodge again if it's available.

Beautiful location off the beaten track but close to Broad Haven via a couple of beautiful woodland/coastal walks. Gorgeous variety of trees surrounding the lodges which provide great habitat for birds and wildlife. The lodge was very clean. Beds were comfortable with lovely crisp white linen. Sitting on the balcony looking at the beautiful views was really wonderful. The best place I have ever stayed.

Room 7 is situated above the kitchen. The chef warming up his ovens woke me at 5.55am. It was so noisy that I had no chance of getting back to sleep. If that is a regular occurrence that room is not fit for purpose. The single bed was very narrow. I have not had that problem before. I paid the same price as previously.
