How does it work?

  • 1

    It starts with a booking

    It starts with a booking

The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

  • 2

    Followed by a trip

    Followed by a trip

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

  • And finally, a review

    And finally, a review

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

The apartment is lovely with just about everything you'd need. It's well maintained and in great condition. The furnishing are very nice and quite comfortable. Plenty of space in all of the rooms. We really appreciated the clothes washer and tumble dryer. The apartment is in a great location near the Roman Baths and Stall Street, but off the main street so it was quiet. It was super easy to get to from the train station, and accessing the unit was simple. Helen was excellent at communicating before our stay to make sure we had all the details we needed.

Although it wasn't hot outside, the unit became quite hot. There was not a lot of ventilation in the apartment because the windows open up to an enclosed court area, so there wasn't much airflow. A fan was thoughtfully provided, however, an additional large fan with an extension cord would have been very helpful. Our biggest challenge was that beginning about 11pm each night, the window across the narrow courtyard began turning on and off at frequent random intervals (between 4 and 10 seconds), and this continued throughout the night. There were nice curtains, but it didn't keep out the flashing light. The light in the other building isn't something Helen has any control over, but adding blackout curtains to the bedrooms could help a great deal for those who are disturbed by the flashing light. Between the hot bedrooms and the light, most of us didn't get very restful sleep. But we did still enjoy our stay. With the addition of another fan and light blocking curtains, I'd give the unit a 10. Without, we'd probably still happily stay again, but in cooler weather and we'd come prepared with eye masks (wish we'd known we needed them!)
