  We stay in different hotels. This one far exceeded the others. All the staff, without exception, were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless, The bedroom met all expectations and was very comfortable. All meals were perfect with a good variety of meals on offer. The prices charged were fair and reasonable. The views from the hotel were great. It was an excellent three night stay. Many a time I am glad to get out of the place we stay at, but we could have easily stayed the week at this hotel. Thank you to all staff. You were welcoming which made the hotel perfect in every respect.

  There was absolutely nothing to fault which is a first. Nothing at all - no dust anywhere, everything clean, meals hot, places to sit and relax including an outside terrace sitting in the sun, quiet nights, perfect.

  Beautifully specced in a great location … We had a slight confusion with needing a twin room which wasn’t how it was set up on arrival - the Dalesman generously sorted this without a fuss and really made our stay exceptional! Food great.

  Free parking, proximity to city centre, bathroom clean and good water pressure in shower, tea and coffee making facilities, free toiletries. Room was quiet. Staff we spoke to were very pleasant.

  Approach to hotel extremely scruffy, cigarette butts, litter and weeds everywhere, front door very tatty. Our room looked out onto broken bed frames and litter at the back of the hotel. Curtains very thin and ill fitting, so awake from dawn. Came down in the morning around 9 to find reception staff member lying full length on sofa in reception.

  Cheap. Sufficient space for a single room. Kettle available, somewhere to hang clothes. Free wifi.

  No access code sent to me before I arrived. Spent ages trying to get hold of someone and get the code to get access. Trying to clarify where to park took hours. I booked this property as it advertised parking. Extremely noisy due to its location. Poor ventilation of bathroom and way to prevent it steam from entering the main room.
