  I upgraded to a family room instead of a compact, even though it was only the two of us. The room was fabulous. Breakfast was fantastic and a great choice available. This is the second time we’ve stayed and it’s in a great location close to the beach, pier and shops.

  The only real positive about this place was that they had beds available when all other hostels and bunkhouses nearby were full.

  Over-priced. They call themselves a bunk house to get away with not providing anything such as bedding, hand soap in the bathroom, curtains in the bedroom or working wifi, yet they charge more than a good quality hostel. The mattress was so old I could feel all the springs sticking in my back all night. The room was dirty. I wouldn't have minded so much if it was cheap.

  The room allocated 532 had a strong smell of air freshener when we arrived. Not thinking much about it we went in to town for a couple of hours. When we returned to get ready to go out the air freshener was wearing off and there appeared to be an overpowering smell in the room a bit like blocked drainage. We opened the window and got ready and went out for the night. On out return to the hotel the smell had significantly intensified. Again we opened the widow and left it open for the night which further detracted from our stay given it was quite a cold night and the heating system was odd in its design. By the time we got up and went for breakfast and came back to the room ready to check out the smell in the room was like a sewer. We did raise the situation at checkout however staff didn’t seem overly surprised. I would suggest they were already aware of the problem hence the extreme air freshener smell at initial check in.
