The Rocks was excellent and I would stay there again. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, and the kitchen and dining area were spacious with lots of equipment and utensils. The reception, living room and fire pit area were comfortable for relaxing and reading. The bunk beds in the shared rooms were comfortable, and each had a light and curtain for privacy. Each bathroom was individual and the showers worked well!

A quirky hotel in a quiet square, just minutes from King's Cross / St Pancras - it was so peaceful. The quirkiness was evident everywhere, which made it relaxing. Our bed was probably the most comfortable we had in over 15 different hotels. Would we stay again - a definite yes.

Maybe because we were near the tail end of breakfast, but there were empty spaces where other dishes should have been. The breakfast we had, however, was just right for us.

Loved the late check out of 12.00 noon ! Lovely hotel and l would recommend as a cheaper alternative to Edinburgh hotels and prices during August! Close to airport . 20 mins by skybus . Lovely historic quaint village with lots to do and see. Great restaurant and good menu options .

Staff were short and abrupt - admittedly a busy weekend with the festival on. Also reluctant to store bags. I think the hotel should try to resolve that issue otherwise bags are left in bar area .

An imposing country home set in green fields and amongst working farms. Beautifully furnished and very comfortable. A delicious breakfast cooked by our delightful hostess in a charming breakfast room. Close proximity to adjoining village.

Didn’t like the slide door to bathroom or the fact that it didn’t shut completly The bedroom was small so the toilet felt like it was exposed

Limescale in kettle so didn't use. Would prefer a fresh coffee at breakfast, not instant. Booking.com said hotel has parking, this is on street parking. I wouldn't have booked if I had known this as we prefer guest parking. Website should have better clarity on this.
