From the moment we arrived, the staff were great. friendly, warm and helpful. We arrived early and the staff were happy for us to leave our bags with them, which they took to our room prior to us getting into the room ourselves. The rooms are spot-on, just what you need and the bed is nice and comfy. We added breakfast to our booking which we were very pleased about. Again, the team down in the dining room were super helpful and welcoming. The selection of food is good. A real positive is that they were able to put together a vegan breakfast for my wife although there was nothing on the menu specifically labelled as vegan, they couldn't do enough to ensure she had a good breakfast. All in all, I'd recommend this hotel as the location is fantastic as are the team.

One negative would be the floor in the bathroom, the moment you get it wet it becomes extremely slippery. Yes, there's stuff to put down on the floor but it's fairly small and leaves a large area open. Also, the lack of a vegan option on the menu. It's great that the team created something for my wife, but in this day and age, there should be a labelled vegan option available.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, and very comfortable well situated and very easy to get to using the free bus from Piccadilly, the Arndale centre and Print works are a few minutes away, The O2 arena is 8mins walk. Shudehill Interchange is less than a minute away.

When advertising our room as a sea view, it would be good to set expectations that you need to be a certain height to get a sea view, the windows are quite high.

When we arrived at 5pm, we were informed that our room wasn't ready (yet check-in is 3 pm). After waiting over an hour and watching several other guests being told their rooms are also not available, the poor girl working on her own on the front desk was trying to organise everything. When I spoke to her again, she had mistakenly forgotten about us ( I am not annoyed about this. Accidents happen, and this lady was running everything herself trying to sort several guests). There were no double rooms available anymore. At some point, someone I believe to be a manager appeared and kept speaking 'at' this girl while she honestly explained what happened whilst explaining the pressure she was under. He was very dismissive to her. We were offered a twin room and a refund for the price between the two rooms which we accepted - what else could we do?! On arrival to the room, it was grubby, no towels, etc. It's really disappointing. We had planned to have dinner at the hotel, we had checked this prior to arriving, but on arrival, the kitchen was closed due to maintenance issues. Again, things happen, but I don't think it is unreasonable to have alerted incoming guests that a service they advertise wasn't available. Overall, it was a really disappointing experience for the price paid. I felt so sorry for the receptionist who was running around trying to sort everything for the guests. It was not her fault that no rooms were ready. Yes, she dropped the ball with us, but witnessing the stress she was under, I completely understand how it happened. She was honest and apologetic about the error - easily could have lied and said the room still wasn't ready - a very admirable trait. The management clearly didn't have much respect for their staff as they were made aware of the situation of guests and no rooms and did not appear to support her.
