Positive section of review
The place is well laid out for families to get together, but it lacks maintenance to the place. I love the location though it is near a train line, but it did not bother me too much. Hot tub was lovely, though in hind sight I should have asked for the water to be replaced as we stayed for 4 nights and it did get dirty after 2 days.

I was supposed to get a message on day of arrival by 4pm to give me the check in code. This did not happen, repeatedly called owner and there was no answer. My family waited outside the accommodation and met up with people outside Beech lodge, accommodation I was allocated since my booking on 24 Jan 2024 to stay 26-30 May. Soon after I got a call from owner to tell me that we are at Oak lodge, which was allocated to my son for same date. I questioned it and was told allocation of lodge will be set on the day. It transpires from chatting with my daughter that people on Beech lodge were friends of owner. Owner lied to me and told me reason for having Oak lodge is because we had a hot tub, which he knew for months. Reviews show Beech lodge has a hot tub too - I don't like being lied to! As you will see from photos, door handle in bed broken, not safe as someone pulled the door shut from outside and we depended on help from others to let us out of the room. There was no oven seal, so cooking took much longer, code to go in did not work, had to use back door. It rained and we had water leaking from two separate skylight. There were old marks so this was known but never got fixed. Bathroom door laminate coming off.

Lovely and clean with lots of utensils. Well proportioned rooms and 3 bathrooms in each house and downstairs toilets. Communication prior to visit was great they accommodated all our questions and requests. Staff in the shop and cafe are lovely!

WiFi was quite patchy and if you’re on the top floor it doesn’t work at all. But wasn’t a problem for us just something to be aware of. At the cafe signal is very strong so could always pop over there if you need to.
