The only way to leave a review is to first make a booking. That's how we know our reviews come from real guests who have stayed at the property.

When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more.

After their trip, guests tell us about their stay. We check for naughty words and verify the authenticity of all guest reviews before adding them to our site.

Gorgeous setting, clean and had everything we needed. Powerful shower, the bed was soooo comfy!! Real nice touches like soap, milk and quality soft furnishings. The towels were stunningly soft!

It’s a shame a bonfire was lit outside our bedroom window on the Friday night as this meant we couldn’t let air in and it ended up stinking the whole room out. Also the guests upstairs were incredibly noisy and woke me up just after 6am on the Saturday (which can’t be helped).

Location was good just 10 mins walk from Arndale Centre. Room was comfy but no natural ventilation ie no openable windows.

Website indicated on site parking which was an attraction but no mention of fees. Had to pay £25 a day to park underneath the hotel. Also typical 'hotel prices' for drinks didn't exactly encourage you to stay in there for too long! Once again (why do most big chains do this?) although a kettle was provided you get just two tea bags and four little cartons of that white water stuff ... can't call it milk! Not even a little packet of biscuits. Also self serve breakfast rather limited ... virtually no fruit or yogurt and no fried eggs! All smacked a little of profit over customer experience.

We were shocked when we arrived to find our deluxe studio apartment was a small timber cabin in the back garden of the apartment building, about the size of a caravan. The kitchen was 1m x 1m and the bathroom wasn't much bigger. We had to leave the bathroom door open to dry off after showering as there was no room to stand between the toilet and the closed door and shower. In fact my knees almost touched the door when sitting on the toilet. We had to brush our teeth in the kitchen sink as the only basin in the bathroom was a tiny one joined on to the toilet cistern under a shelf making it impossible to bend over to brush teeth. There was very little space around the bed with 2 suitcases having to be stored on the floor. There was nowhere inside to sit comfortably to eat a meal as there was only a small 2 seater couch or the bed. The only table was under a pergola in the garden. Despite there being a coffee plunger there was no coffee provided, not even instant coffee and no milk. Nothing deluxe about this place. When we complained to management, they claimed the photos of the Alba studio were displayed on booking.com (they are not), and said they would work with booking.com to make the photos more prominent. They offered us a discount to return another time and guaranteed they would give us one of their best apartments. We feel duped and misled and will not ever return to Carmel Apartments.
