  We love the Maltsters. We've stayed here now roughly 8 times over the last decade, and it never disappoints. The staff, the rooms, the beautiful location and the food are all exceptional. It's about 2 miles from Cardiff centre, however, the walk through Llandaf fields and Sofia gardens which brings you out at Cardiff Castle. This time we actually spent some time walking around Llandaf itself which is stunning with a beautiful cathedral with a lot of history. Would fully recommend, see you again soon Maltsters ❤️

  Amazing location, just off the Royal Location. Friendly staff and comfortable communal areas. Dorm was cosy enough, not too hot in the 4-bed room.

  I could see females having an issue with the mixed bathrooms. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast, it's very basic, although you can't expect much from a hostel.
